    More weight is a given, but it won't change all that much. What gear though?

    By the sound of your post, really sounds like you're giving yourself a lot of anxiety. It's not all that difficult as you've already figured out by working on your truck.

    Only crappy part is dropping the transmission, especially if you don't have a transmission jack, or extensions and swivels for bolting everything up. Otherwise it should be easy for you considering you have another vehicle to drive for the meanwhile.

    @Abeyancer

    From 2" to 6" this should suffice for the piston. Will grab it today and hope for the best later.

    @JKO1998 You gonna get those busted ass Foxes? They're not far from my neck of the woods really. I was thinking about em, be about $200 in rebuild materials, once rebuilt they're easily $800-900 COs in today's market.

    Fair enough, you got first crack, I certainly don't need em. Shipping those only sucks if you don't have packing material for them. That can be more expensive than the actual shipping service.

    They look like normal Prado 120 platform coilovers, should fit 2nd-3rd gen tacos, 4-6th gen runners, GX470-460...

    Easy way to get it how you want it. I sat on my blown out SAWs for a year before buying rebuild kits and fixing them. Couldn't pass up $250 for coilovers.

    The nitrogen kit is the most expensive portion ($150 for the connector block and regulator) the bottle of nitro can be had from any welding supply house or medical supply house. The rest is honestly cake. The spring compressor is much harder to come by (one strong enough to handle 3" dia truck coils that is). But if you're gonna keep buying used stuff or using your own stuff hard it'll save you hundreds after a single rebuild. Didn't take more than 2hrs for a first timer. I think I could do that all again in about 45mins a shock, maybe an hour if I need to remove coils.

    If you have the scratch to spend on having others do repairs more power to you. I'd have never become useful with my hands if I had any money up until my first job out of college. Was professionally poor from elementary school through the end of college. Definitely couldn't afford to have any of my vehicles fixed in a shop, so I started buying tools and learning. Ended up being the best hobby ever. I do wish I'd ever had the cash to give away a job I don't want to do. Nowadays I cannot imagine ever taking a vehicle to be repaired ever again, I have the cash but it just feels wasteful and I know no one will ever do as good a job as I'd do (yes that's a cocky statement but I'm sure you've seen who works at shops and dealerships haha)

    Actually I'm still professionally poor, it's the only reason there's anything leftover after monthly expenses. Poorfessional haha

    Definitely not against working on my own things, it’ll be a lot easier with my own place though

    Backup vehicle is key. Things were much harder in the apartment parking lot when you knew you had to be able to drive the fucking thing in 10hrs to get to classes
