Handle or similar to help kids climb in?

Any parents out there come up with an effective grab handle for little kids to climb in the back? Mine love the new truck, but it’s only a matter of time before one of them slips and bonks a head/mouth/tooth on the rock sliders.

Isn't that the company at the heart of the infamous A-pillar driver's side handle debacle?

 

I got one of these to help my elderly mother get in and out. Little kids may think it is cool to have their own 1 step ladder.

Yup, cashed in man card but upped dad points with these. Look up "cobra" or "king cobra" weave and get some Paracord. I ain't paying some Jeep site for these .

I would recommend buying a quality Paracord brand, makes a difference. Softer feel in the hands for my girls, vs the sand paper texture of the knock off stuff.

 

Cashed in? No way. You re-upped it. Letting them climb in and such gives them more than lifting them up.

 

A climbing sling looped around the headrest. My 4.5-year-old can grab it from the ground, puts his feet up, and pull himself into the truck.

 

Simple and effective.

 

Back in the 60’s and 70’s macrame was taught in junior high and high school arts class. Life skills.

Your truck is child proofed nicely.

 

That's the great part about doing your own. You can make them as short or long as you need to and after they grow out, you have perfectly usable Paracord. Enjoy!

Yep, but that's more work for me. Easier to scream "get in the god damned car" while I throw lunch boxes and water bottles in the bed.

Why not just attach a length of rope and hand your kids a Jumar? Or if they already know how to tie a Prusik, a loop of cordage and let them aid climb their way in?

 

My kiddos grab onto the floor, seat, car seat, shoulder, whatever and pull on up. If they can play at the playground they can probably get into a truck, no? Just thinking that you might be overthinking this.
