Perfect, are you using open or closed loop boost control? And are you using knock control and if so how did you initially get the settings to isolate knock vs engine noise.

Currently I am not using the boost control. I was using closed loop. I just couldn't get it setup well enough. The it kept spiking high, then boost cutting hard. Due to the safety feature being setup. So I have left it alone for a while. Been so long, that I am not sure what I was doing wrong.

I took a note somewhere. May have looked through the Haltech help files, or online through Haltech. There is a knock formula. Used that as a starting point, and then had to raise the threshold ha little, due to the noise of my large profile camshafts.

@JustDSM noticed the same on the trucks he's tuned with the Kelford camshafts.

I was planning to try it this way on mine.
Make it knock and use that frequency.

And if the pinout changes every year doesnt that mean the sensors are different between vehicles as well.

I followed this, but I think an older video. I did not configure the threshold table, need to do that.

The pin out may be different but if it has the same number of wires I would think it would still function as supposed to. 0-5v, IIRC, is nearly an industry standard.

Will it run with the MAF unplugged? Essentially MAFless. Most German programming will use a default fuel map when the MAF sensor fails.

I may have the 1st pin on the MAF wrong. I may need to do some real world testing instead of just armchair guessing...Sorry friend.

Starting to wonder if maybe I have narrowband. Both pre and post cat read the same voltage(catless). Or maybe just the Torque Pro app converting numbers? It’s a ‘99 with the 2 bolt flanged sensors.

Netted 16-18mpg on 33s, plate bumper, sliders, and a fiberglass topper from Jackson, MS to Sweetwater, TX. No headwind.

So both sensors are the same?

Id have to look. I remember it being built there but not destined to stay. It’s not Cali compliant anymore if so.

@Speedytech7 where are you at on your haltech?

I'm hoping to get mine going this summer. I have everything in hand, but I might just switch to 1000cc injectors to make the tuning easier. I need to email injector dynamics to see what ones fit my motor. I don't know anything about the 550cc that are in the truck right now.

I've got to install mine it should actually be in this week. I've got a tune built. And I've got a pre-built configuration for 5vz wiring. I'm happy to help if you have questions and whatnot though. There's another haltech powered Tacoma that I've been working on so I've got some experience at least with the platform. You can probably dial in the dead times of your injectors yourself but it is helpful if somebody already has a printout for yours. If they came from injector Dynamics there will be a data sheet for sure.
