@RTweet have you seen this thread? Maybe it’ll help a little. Not that you’re planning on pro to OR but seems like there are a few other reviews scattered in here.

Coincidentally, I was just looking at this! I’m just surprised there are no subjective or objective comparison between the internal bypass vs foam cell/ fox pros vs Ironman FCP (for anyone else reading this).

Difficult to find good comparisons on any of the coilovers over the $1500 mark.

I found 1 good thread on OME BP-51s and a couple decent threads on TRD PRO systems. Hard to justify switching out expensive components to try something else and be able to make a comparison. Once we get something, we just tend to stick with it. :notsure:

I found this really good Youtube video yesterday and it's what helped me land on the Bilstein 6112. I had a coupon for Wheelers off-road and got them for $795 assembled and shipped. I'd be happy to give you a review on those in a month or so if you shoot me a message to remind me :D

Very good point, and it doesn't help that after we invest a substantial amount of money, we have a tendency to defend the purchase without great objectivity! Thanks for the link! In my case, I have the fox pros, which I love. I'll spare you the details of the drama, but I'm sort of being forced into a new setup, so I'm trying to decide if the Ironman FCP are at least as good as my current setup. (Why I'm considering Ironman over other brands is also a long story.)

Yah, the red pro fox comes standard on the tacoma pros...Significantly improved from the OR and FJ suspension (based on a few 3rd gen rentals, my wife's 2nd gen, and my 2008 FJ). I'm not a suspension expert and don't want to throw out the generic terms, but it just feels more responsive, planted, and I'd actually say it feels more like driving my old (2008; v6) honda accord, if that honda accord could also ride over speed bumps going 40 mph without bottoming out. I haven't been able to take the truck on anything other than gravel and paved roads, however.

Yes, I've used them before, as have lots of other TacomaWorld members.

You can google them, Sparks Toyota. Brick and mortar dealership that just has decent prices through their parts dept.

W/o getting in your business, they do make replacement coils for those coilovers to give you just a little bit of a bump up front...enough to run 33s. Throw an Icon RXT leaf back on the back to level it back out and good to go! Toyteclifts has them listed on their site, and while they may not be the cheapest, you can copy and paste a part number from there and shop it all over the web. That's what I usually do. Sometimes Toytec is cheapest, sometimes not.

I have the Eibach pro spring upgrades for the ~1.25" lift. They are shit, somehow causing an offset that makes my setup squeak like a 50 yo rust bucket due to wear on the hats.

Yeah bud, they are a Toyota dealership selling authentic Toyota parts. You can verify that by the part numbers. Usually start with a PTR....

 Oh NOOO!!! That's not cool! The 2017 Tacoma I just traded in had a squeaky ass end and I couldn't stand it. Didn't qualify for new leaf packs because of the spacer and add a leaf that the previous owner installed.

Only other thing you could do would be to add a 1/2" spacer. I can't believe Toyota doesn't build the PRO with enough clearance for 33s.....

Anyone know how much the pro fox coilovers go for used? Can only find what they go for with the rears/ complete setup.

I have a question. Do the 2021 and below pro's have different shock part numbers than a 2022? The 2022 has more lift front and rear over the 21 and below correct?

The reason I ask is I think I'm going to make my 2020 OR a "budget" trd pro. Meaning I have the same driveline as the pro, same offroad nannies as the pro, I just lack the suspension and i have cloth seats lol. I plan to put on the trd upper control arms as well. I found the part #'s to those, I'm just not sure if the 22 shocks are different or if toyota put in spacers and blocks for the added lift. I believe they added a 1/2 inch block in the rear.

They used blocks and spacers. There are pictures of them floating around here somewhere. I believe the pro also has the thicker sway bar, btw. Not sure why. Keep in mind, if you use the ‘22 UCAs, you can’t fit 33s without a spacer.
