Why do people get these?? They’re hidden and don’t improve performance?

I've had CV boot issues ever since I installed my Dirt King control arms setup. If it wasn't one thing it was another. I ran the SDHQ 930 boots for all of about a year and those were awesome until they started dry rotting which lead to them tearing real fast thereafter. They are made of inferior rubber clearly so I will not touch those ever again.

So because of all the issues, I want a pair of untouched factory axles in good shape. I don't want to sit here and play around with those tension bands or put grease in and make a big mess. I'm done modding this truck and the less I have to do to it the better.

I really hate this truck sometimes.

Just slap some NAPA CVs in there. Warranty them out if/when needed. Only time I have issues with them is when its my own doing and not knowing my limits... *POP*. Nothing with the boots tearing or anything... and I run DK lowers. 30 minutes to swap a CV.

No, I just don't have anything more that I want to do to it since I can't off-road anymore and am making more than enough power on it to satisfy my needs as far as a truck is concerned.

I'm just trying to preserve what I have at this point in the most reasonable way possible really

Lumbar injuries, herniated discs, take your pick. Lol. Offroading is not an activity I will even consider touching at this point because of how bad I was and how bad I can be at any given moment now. What shame too, because I used to really enjoy it.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
All this talk of junk axles, broken axles, messed up.... Someone must have a junk or broken axle laying around somewhere. I'd be willing to buy, and ship, something that you probably consider junk. I'm looking for the inner and outer stubs from a clapped out, broken axle. OEM or aftermarket is ok. Don't need or want the whole axle assembly, hoping to find someone who has disassembled and has just the splined stubs available...

I want to be able to take my axle out entirely, put two stubs back in and keep going in 2wd mode. Any leads? I'm not going to a junkyard or pick-n-pull. Summertime in Phx AZ, and besides those prices for "good" axles is way more than I wanna spend.

    Thanks in advance.

me too. @hx989 does have a point about why? is it seen? very valid. but.... im inclined to believe style points are a fun visual. and i read... aftermarket parts in red do increase hp and are lighter.
