My office staff coworkers don't understand why every time I go sit at a new plant, the first people I make friends with are IT and the maintenance / machine shop people. The ones that can help you with all sorts of stuff my fellow "carpet people" can't.

They forget where in the building the money gets made. It's not in the head-shed up front.

Normal service call: Clogged can. Often by the time you get there things have softened a bit and a cautious flush will clear it.
So flush a few times and then try it with a bunch of paper. Good.

    Call back: Same as above.
Prospect with closet auger, nothing found, attribute it to normal employee BS and call it ok.

    Call backs, several: :confused::confused: :confused:
    Finally pulled the can.
Turned out the pen was crosswise in the wax ring, the auger wouldn't catch it.

Depending on the consistency of the particular "job" it could clog or work fine.

Worst one ive mentioned before. We lived in a rental house and the master bathroom toilet started leaking into the basement every flush. So i go to see if i can tighten bolts down or replace wax ring. Bolts starts spinning....ok i think the tie bolts rusted or whatever. I go to pull on one and it comes out, pull on the other and it comes out! The idiots installing just put wax ring on and put the stud in the wax ring! Nothing holding it in the flange!:annoyed::frusty: they purposely cut off the T!

Most office folks think service people like me are just appliances, useful when needed but not worth much beyond that.

I was treated (only) slightly better than the production people who were considered noisy, expendable, ill-mannered livestock.

Not uncommon at all sadly, but some of us try to be better than that.

And we genuinely appreciate the people who do, those are the folks who we are glad to help and get the best service we can give.

If that was a hard drive, I could understand the reason for putting it in the freezer. I don't think it's a SATA drive. I could be wrong.

I was more curious as to how the pen found itself to be between a stool and a hard floor.

Now that you mention it, my coworker said he was having trouble communicating with the lathe from his computer. It wasn’t my bosses, I ask him.

Shrinking the USB so it fits better.

Me thinks we need a new poll:

Who has a mini orgasm when they find they are the 1st to respond to a poll?
