    @Abeyancer

    Aside from the obvious gaskets, will that site also have bolts I'll need for attaching everything else?

    Think the crankcase cover was missing one? Or...I'll need to look at it again.

    The bolts for the starter assembly as well.

    Studs for the exhaust and intake.

    It's a plastic gear with weights on it.. looks like this

    Governor-Gear-Arm-Shaft-Lock-Pin-Kit-For-Honda-GX200-GX160-168F-5-5HP-6-5HP.jpg_Q90.jpg_.jpg

    It rides on this shaft on the case

    20220707_160938.jpg

    The plastic gear rides against this gear on the crank (marked in red) due to centrifugal force, at 3600rpm the metal weights on the plastic gear fling out and press against the bent shaft (in the first picture) that comes through the block (where the yellow arrow is) that bent shaft is mechanically linked to the throttle control to keep the engine at a max of 3600.20220707_160933.jpg

    Wow, that's pretty cool. I appreciate the explanation :D

    It never occurred to me but it makes sense to do it that way since 3600 RPM could happen at various throttle positions depending on engine load.

    Typing in specifc model numbers, etc. still yields 415 results for engine type :rofl:

    I'm betting most items are the same part number (for gaskets, etc) but I'll still double check before ordering.

    Think I should get new valve springs?

    Yea that's part of the beauty of power equipment engines. They're built around the sole purpose of doing work and all small gas engines run with maximum torque output at 3600rpm (+/- 200rpm) so they can do fancy little effective feats of simple engineering like that

    Jebus I can really prattle on about this :anonymous:

    Measure the valve spring, they're supposed to be 39mm long, min service length is 37.5mm if it's shorter than that it'll need replaced. Also stand it up-right on the table and check it with a square to make sure it still stands upright at a 90 degree angle. If it leans it'll need replaced.

    On parts tree look up a GX270URHQ4 that will be the Thailand version of your exact motor

    FUCK, the sticker alone costs more than valve springs even :rofl:

    My recoil starter case doesn't have the cool black/red sticker on it :(

    @Abeyancer

    I love that site man, but shit it's so easy to say "I should get this, and this too"

    I'm noticing I'm missing little shit like a second dowel on both the crankcase cover gasket as well as the head gasket. :facepalm:

    You know, I don't know if they make the stickers in Thailand, it might be so expensive cause it's a genuine made it Japan decal:laughing:

    Damn, they robbed you of your dowels?!?!

    The crankcase cover isn't so critical but the head one kinda is... although I've put mowers back together with no dowels, or gaskets. Just hondabond and hopes and dreams. They've all run lol

    Oof

    Nooo, looking back again only one is missing on the cover for the reduction gearbox.

    I made a list last night, but I'll go back to the motor after school today and verify parts needed. May end up sending you a picture for any bolts/springs needed outside the motor.
