Dude from extended warranty company said that if I had 35s or bigger they wouldn’t cover something like the head gasket failure lol

If you mean 5 speed Manual, that was discontinued after 2017.

And I think you need to get the V6 to get the 6-speed manual.

Right, the only way to get a MT is in the TRD lineup.

A regular cab, 2.7 power, six foot bed, two wheel drive, 5 speed manual truck would be a handy summer run around vehicle.

Yup, I've long said it's not that an issue happens per se (though annoying), it's how it is handled that makes or breaks it. I'll never own another GM vehicle as a daily after the lies and cheating they all pulled when my Colorado engine puked. I'll gladly buy another Toyota especially after they took care of my frame last year.

Sans the manual you have described my rig. I drive it daily even in the New England winter.

Could not agree more. Specifically how it's handled.

Like I said to GM corporate telling me it's normal to blow the engine at 70K..I told him about my wife's 96 Tacoma buyback, then asked what's more normal a 13 year old truck in MA rusting or a 70K engine never worked/towed/plowed with that's always maintained blowing..and if you honestly can say it's the engine, you're not exactly inspiring my confidence to keep this one or buy another vehicle from you.

My sales guy says he can order the SR v6 4x4 manual but it’ll take 4-5 months and looking at $40-45k!!! I paid $30k for mine in 2020!! For a base trim model Tacoma?!?! Does this sound right?

Your sales guy is totally and completely wrong, that Model does not currently exist. However he can get you a V6 MT but it will be a TRD.

That’s what the extended warranty dude told me Because “modifications” void warranty when I was trying to figure out what would cause them to not cover. I told him I have upgraded wheels and all terrains and asked if that’s considered “modification” he chuckled and told me that about as long as they aren’t 35s or larger you’re good. This might have just been a easy example or something though

sounded a little odd at first, now thinking this makes sense that there’s some kinda line there. not absolute and couldn’t be because no one would want that shit

You're sales guy really can't order anything... The dealership he works at gets allocations from corporate and simply are told to "find a buyer for this truck we're sending you."

So if you can't build it on the Toyota web site, its not a configuration that may someday be allocated to your dealer.

As far as prices go... Yes, much to the chagrin of many.
