Jeff has released the Sport Tune for all years AT and MT. I'm installing the Sport Stage 2 on my truck tomorrow, I'll report back. Also, I'm still doing tune installs in the Philly Metro and S NJ areas.

Just installed the VR Sport stage 2 tune today on my truck. It's awesome, way more usable power at lower rpm. I've added over 700lbs plus weight in the bed so this helped tremendously. It would be interesting to see the results on a near stock weight truck.

I was wondering what everybody was getting for fuel economy with valley sport. I have a 2019 TRD pro 33 inch tires and stock gears, and about a 2.5 inch lift. I also have roof rack and snorkel. when I was using Valley runner with premium I was getting anywhere from 12.8 to 13.5 in the city. Only doing highway I could usually get it up to 16 mpg or so. With valley sport stage 1 on premium my tank's been averaging 15.7 around town, i have yet to do a lot of highway miles yet so I don't have the exact number for that but on some shorter trips I've gotten up to 19 or 20 mpg. I've also noticed that my truck will actually sit at 1500 RPM at 60-65 mph. I'm actually rethinking if I need to re-gear or not. I'd also like to hear your experience in general with VS stage 1 or 2 especially anyone who has re-geared.

Well, I don't have an answer to you, but that post gave me the nudge to go ahead and purchase Sport stage 1 and 2. Thanks.

Haha that's fine! if you remember let us know what you think after the tune settles in. Side note I did not notice a increase in MPG with stage 2. But I didn't run it as long as stage 1 so I don't know for sure.

I'll be driving 300 miles tomorrow. So, I should have a good idea pretty soon. My first impression of VS stage 1 is that I really like it.

Well, after more than 300 miles of driving, primarily highway, but about 1/3 in the mountains and some city, I'm pretty sure I'm getting better mileage with VS stage 1. Acceleration feels more aggressive from VR, and I hit redline quicker and have to shift faster if accelerating hard. For the drive I made today, I normally average 19-20 mpg, but was pushing 22 mpg. For one section of it that is particularly flat and usual slower due to traffic, 22 mpg is about the best I have gotten. Today I romped on it harder than I did when I got 22.4 mpg and I averaged 23.1 mpg.

I'm happy. I may not try VS stage 2 for a while as I'm really happy with VS stage 1. The pedal is not too sensitive and maintaining controlled slow speed is very easy.

@TermLimits thank you for another great tune at a reasonable price. Nice work.

Edit: Still really like how the tune handles, however I do not think it has given a significant bump in MPG after driving it for a while.

My wife drove the truck yesterday and this morning when I asked her she thought she said "I really like it! It feels a lot better!" She says it feels like the engine responds appropriately to the pedal and she has power to pull out into traffic now. So, that is her verdict on VS Stage 1.

    Tldr at bottom
So just took a 470-ish mile round trip to visit family last weekend. Everything about the truck is the same as my first comment. Still using premium I noticed that the truck would cruise around 65 mph at 1500 RPM just fine on level ground. of course any real Hill and it would downshift to 5th maybe 4th gear. the odd thing is at 70 to 75 mph the truck felt like it was in this weird Middle ground where I didn't have quite enough power to deal with the increase of wind resistance, but if I pushed through that to 80 mph at 2000 rpm it usually felt better. This can be mitigated by using the tow haul function to keep it out of sixth gear. I feel like a regear might still be called for if I did a lot of highway driving at those speeds, just enough to get that RPM a little bit higher. As for my MPG, this specific route has a lot of hills and can have high winds and a high speed limit (between 70 and 80 mph) I feel like I got pretty good MPG around 16.6 average, and on one leg of the trip I got 18.4 mpg! In a higher speed limit leg I was getting a little over 15 mpg.

TLDR at one point of a 470 mile trip I got 18.4 MPG but an average of 16.6 mpg overall. And the truck still might need a regear if I do a lot of 80+ MPH highway driving in the future.

Just tuned my friends 2016 Tacoma OR. The thing has 32” Goodyear duratracs. It had some weird ECU ID from the scan tool I was using.. probably built before 2016. 04B03 ECU ID from the VF tool. Had to get it updated before flashing.
i set it up for 33” tires and holy macaroni it’s fast now. Likes to coast around 1400 with plenty of torque. He loves it but says it’s hard to “accelerate slow” sometimes. That is coming from a 2016 stock tune where you have to be constantly smashing on the gas pedal.
instantly started getting better gas mileage and now the acceleration from 1000-3000 rpm range is smooth as butter. Anything above 3k is exciting. great job on this tune.

Gotta hand it to Valley Tuning. Definitely the best tune I’ve run. Very smooth and predicable. Power where it’s needed and the gear lock feature is a really nice option. My fuel mileage is also over 18mpg with 33’s, sliders and full skids. And the price point for the tune file is an absolute steal compared to many others.

Edit: forgot to mention this is the VS Stage2 with GL

Please excuse me if this has been answered already. But, does anybody have any MPG data on what a stock truck (height, gears, wheels, etc.) with stock 265/70R16 Goodyear A/T's will run with the VR Regular Tune?

Also @TermLimits is the tune actually undetectable by the dealership?

Again sorry if I'm beating a dead horse. Thanks in advance.

Hey quick question. if I were to change my tire size from 33-in to 31.5 would I need to update my tune file to the smaller size tire? or would it be close enough to not be a problem. Should only be about a 100 RPM difference.
