That's a very odd paint texture. Looks like fiberglass to me.

 will be curious as to the outcome of this weird looking paint. It does look like a fiber glass repair job.

With all of the paint issues these things have and just general poor overall quality across the board this doesn't surprise me. Do agree that it looks like fiberglass, strange. Good luck OP hopefully the dealer will treat ya fair.

I took my Barcelona red 17 Tacoma in because the paint is just starting to haze, and I was told its not covered anymore. Really sucks when you park your truck in the winter. It's always clean and garage kept, and it still does this with just barely 30000 miles. The few bucks they saved they lost in future car sales. I was in the market recently and decided to go with a Mazda. It's the first non-Toyota I have owned new since 1989. Free oil changes were the only good thing about Toyotas customer service. We were fed up with them with my wife's 13 Sienna as well. Repairs were needed while it was under warranty which they did not do but said needed done after the warranty expired. (Leaking struts and steering coupler) I had it fixed elsewhere.

Those lines look raised, not like they’re sand lines. If I didn’t see the shark fin I would have thought it was a fiberglass cap. Good luck!

I guess you don’t wash the roof often. Looks like fiberglass to me also.I doubt it’s original likely a poor repair. Toyota service has gone down at a-lot of dealers. Even the “free” oil changes that I stopped after not getting the oil full (minus .6qt). They do however send ads and trying to get you back for service. Sorry went off on tangent.

I don't wash my truck to speak of at all. I did have a professional ceramic coating performed. So far the roof and the rest of the finish looks like it did over 2 years ago. Truck sits outside 24/7.

Looks like aged vinyl wrap. Try to peel it off.

As someone who has done some painting. Mostly custom street bikes. That texture can not be laid down by a spray gun. Human or robotic.

Isn't your warranty over? If so, waste of time going to the Dealership!
