Damn you, those underpowered late 70s/early 80s trans ams are my dream car. You even have the leaky T-tops :angrygirl: tell me it’s a 4-speed MT plzzzz

Just something I noticed today. I’ve only had my truck for a week, and today was the first time I started my truck up with the door open, it roared like one of those muscle cars. I friggin loved it!!!

Not sure if all 3rd gens have it or if it’s because of the blackout exhaust tip that was added, but it was sweet to hear.

    It’s an automatic :(
The t tops do leak some but the car has never really sat outside in the rain or been driven in the rain/snow before… which sounds kinda crazy because it has 347,000 miles on the odometer. Engine and trans is original and runs great

Sounds good, enjoy the ride now. Hey, what's been throwing your alignment out so much since March? That's quite a few alignments in about 4.5 Months. One per month.

    yeah, it too many.
The first one was pretty good. But then the truck settled a bit I had the tech check it a few weeks later and he said everything was still good (even though it didn't look good.)
In may it went back to the same tech probably cause I was ripping dirt roads and it was wayyyy out. That same tech said he couldnt adjust camber even though I have SPCs so he set it up mostly correct, the exception being it had like -.04# of camber each side.
I finally had it all reset yesterday and the tech added 1.8# of total camber back in to get my wheels straight up n down

Removed rearview mirror. With my windowless leer dcc, it was useless anyhow. I'll go with an anytime camera or camera relocation. (Tire swing out inplace)20220708_083236.jpg

Really puts it in perspective how much the rearview mirror takes up front facing viewable space

I'm also kind of tall and always seems to get in my way and have to lower my head to look around it

Most 12v systems are pretty straight forward with only 2 main variables: 12v positive (red wires) and ground (block wires). Find a good ground. The rest is just busy work like wire crimping and running wires to various places on the truck. This was one of the largest projects on the truck I've done in one shot. This took me 5 straight days of an average over 8 hours each day.

I updated the original post with a parts list. Lots of various spools of different wire gauges and terminal ends and tools and such in there too that I didn't bother to list.

Did a roadtrip to Montana from San Diego.
3160 miles driven roundtrip, 227 gallons of gas for a total of $1,178 and a MPG of 13.9....... :annoyed:

CA gas prices are high but Utah and Idaho were only marginally better unless you went with 85 octane. Montana was when we finally saw sub $5.

Never went over 75 but was loaded down with three guys and my shell packed to the roof. Awning, flyrod tube and cab rack didn't help with the drag.

33" tires, lift, 5.29 gears, full armor, shell and 8 hrs of 20-30mph headwind from Salt Lake City south did not help the fuel economy......
