Favorite Whiskey?

Unfortunately there was no one in the parking lot to send in for the last bottle

Lady at the counter did not think my question about “can schizophrenics buy two, one for each personality?” was funny.

 

If you got the same one I did she was straight up grumpy. Theres two in there I know pretty well, but she wasn't one of em.

 

Grumpy.

“I assume your wife will be here shortly for the other bottle”.

I was like, lady my wife has better things to do. It’s still just bourbon.

 

Plus:

"And if she is?"

I mean you're a store clerk lady. I ain't judgin you, but just sell the shit. No attitude needed.

I finally got access to the mysterious Swansboro store, and it was everything I ever could have wanted it to be.

I saw early on the "how to drink" posts, so not sure if this was every posted.

I used to drink whisky and whiskey straight, but then learned that by adding the very slightest bit of water ( less than an eye dropper full), it releases so much more flavour.
Do the taste test. Pour 2 shots from the same bottle, add a few drops of water to one, then taste them. Too much water ruins the taste, a few drops is a game changer.

 

Depends on the whiskey, and usually most relevant to high proof bourbon.

If you do this to scotch the rest of the scotch drinkers in the world will never talk to you again.

 

I actually learned of the water from a documentary on Scotch, " Scotch: A Golden Dream" on Netflix. Actually quite informative show. Worth the watch

 

Sure, but that makes no account for internet based faux snobbery!

(Or it might be real snobbery from idiots. Or both. I'm not sure.)

Interesting to see how the bottle has changed since 2011. And apparently it’s recently changed again, moving the age statement from the back to the front.
