Jerry, yes, unfortunately I just dropped serious coin on a dog ER visit. So it's out. But go ahead. If I need one I am sure I can find one later. I was just gonna get to help you pay for the paddle boards and beach cruiser fat tire bikes you'll be getting.

What part of Maryland are you from exactly Brother? I grew up in the unit block of Potomac Street in the Highlandtown neighborhood from the early 60's until the 80's and then in and around it directly in places like Canton & Greek Town, and for my wife the Ellwood Park area. We both have worked in Baltimore City for the last 40+ years.

Have there been times I've felt like having some sort of defensive weapon would be a benefit? Hell yes. Flat out. Being down there during the civil unrest was sketchy af. I feared for both our lives then. Don't ask if I was prepared and I won't have to lie to you. When a crackhead confronts you or better yet, a heroine zombie a 10' pole would be nice to have. When people are not happy, and stomping on the hood of your car, it's a tough situation to be in. Most people would wait it out and hope it ended. Sometimes though things escalate and get completely out of control.

Will I take advantage of the new law? I don't know. Sometimes it's best to wait to see how things like this plays out. Do I feel like we will be safer? I'm agreeing with you and saying Fuk no! You know how many fkn idiots will have guns? Oh, they'll be law abiding, but bat shit crazy. I don't oppose the law either. I can't. I feel it's our right. All of ours.

    So it's tough.

I live in Harford County, up near the Pa border. Do I feel like I need a gun up here. Nope. I have a whistle I use when I walk the dogs in the woods and they wear bells though because every redneck up here has a gun and frequently fires them off. All my neighbors do. Hell we all have ranges built. We're not immune to crime up here either, I wouldn't ever say that. I do feel safer up here though.

Maybe it's because I have a front end loader and 2.5 acres of wooded property :notsure:

Also, if you want that double rifle bag you saw I have, it's yours. I got a smaller backpack that works for me. I'll put it on the side with the Inferno touch up paint I have.

I bought them off ebay back when I had the 17' Sport. Seemed to howl more on the rainy days and apparently it would remedy it. I never used them so they are here. It's suppose to rain tomorrow too so my yard chores are out. I will be taking the truck into Jones for my final free service tomorrow though. That's at 2pm. I'm waiting there so I could meet you there and hand them off. Sometimes my Pro makes the noise but the dogs are helping me to not sweat the little things in life anymore, so their yours if you want them. I'll dig them out if so. I know where they are.

    SHIT!!! TGIFF!!!

So we started last weekend dog sitting. I need to go back to that post I did that fretful day. And see what transpired on here since. Essentially, the outcome was me getting stung by some devil fuking bee, yellow jacket, or whatever insect, and then taking Maizy to the ER Pet Hospital, and was there from like 1700 to 2430 (0030). She has been wearing a bandage, and I am proud to say, without the need for a cone of shame, she's such a good girl, since then and today we take it off to see how it's healing. She tore her (connected type) dewclaw a little while playing, was already into licking it when we brought the other two dogs over, was in no mood and then exasperated the situation in the constant battles with them.

    aWSLbD0DJ0OGP7vWjjNCWlxMFNpqoOPf-YF7jz6a_2ca9717f0d2f7ea0ced4295914802c3c23042a79.jpg

Her nails are different than other dogs nails I have seen. Phoenix for example has talons, like a cat, only much larger and not nearly as sharp. Maizy has a nail covering more like a human, and the quick is under them. As the photo shows, the nail covering has become separated from the quick below. Apparently, for a dog, the air blowing across an exposed quick is comparable to a dentist exposing a root in one of your teeth and blowing air on it.

So I am sharing because I know we have a lot of doggie owners in here and I like learning things like this with it all being new to me, us. The prognosis was to rip off the nail, clean the infection, and bandage the wound, and isolate it. Seems pretty simple now, and makes me just go Huh.

I've been monitoring for infection too all along. Feeling for excessive heat, or swelling at or above the site.

I added a huge waterproof shower covering, and then some large waterproof bandages, and to hold it all on some surgical tape. It definitely helped keep the bandage beneath dry when she was going outside.

    Zgr-yADloPpH26HjF-IvesmdP8YkJbxDRoveUEyy_8ad33e1af77d699fbf3a826c110fdbbc4cc9318a.jpg

My poor injured player! She was funny with the cone on. I'm a bad dad and laughed but didn't let her see me. We left it on the first night but she wasn't making an effort to get at the bandage so we removed it. She's been fine since. She's a great dog.

But since then things at work are nuts, and yesterday I walked cut the grass for some much needed exercise. Today I want to go out there and blow the clippings away from the house so I can stop tracking them in. It's so moist up here right now. No sun and rain does that I guess.

Anyway, busy weekend planned and a lot of drinking to do so..........Y'all have a great weekend and be safe. I'll probably poke my head back in later and over the weekend.

Oh, and I left out that I need to have another shoulder operation. This time a patch inside the joint. Fkn' great..........

I have a page a day dog calendar (naturally) and they're not all as funny as I'd like but today made me chuckle.

Don’t want to jinx anything… but been a pretty good Friday so far. Light day at work, got off a little after 1. While driving down 340, I noticed a fishing rod on the shoulder. I figured it was probably trashed, but f it… went back and picked it up. $75 reel and $140 trout rod with ZERO damage.. Score! Makes up for the rod I kicked off the bow of the boat down Ft.Washington a while back.

Hope everyone else is having a great day and start to the weekend!!

@RobP62 glad to hear your girl is doing better. Mine went to the vet Tuesday as well and is also recovering from a bladder infection.
Today was a pretty good day, went crabbing with my brother on the Wye River. Almost 3 dozen keepers!

Nice! Those can be bad for your carpet. Painful for your fur baby. Sweet crabs. I'm callin' my place to try to get some cold ones. I tell ya, when I look in that basket I see all the colors of the beautiful bay. It's a lovely sight thinking how red they'll soon be. MMMmmmmm!

Anybody here running ScanGauges in their rigs? If so, do you monitor mph on it and compare it to the speedometer in the dash?

recently did some reading and see that there’s a 7.3% different between 265/70/16’s and 285/75/16’s, so I made the appropriate change in my ScanGauge and wow is it noticeably different. I’d love to find a way to test the true accuracy of both to really know how fast I’m going.
