Whatta ya mean by 'base'? Do you have a 4WD truck? The TRD suspension you are referring to, is it off a V6 or a 4cylinder?
Are you referring to the front & rear suspension?

    4WD only:
If you're talking a TRD 4cyl suspension to a non-TRD 4cyl - personally, is it worth it? Is the 'ride' quality THAT much better between the two? If you're talking TRD 6cyl suspension to your non-TRD 4cyl susp- then you might get a little bit of LIFT with it and you'd feel the ride quality difference for sure.

As for the rear suspension - I wouldn't bother unless you're getting the TSB leaf springs and not the original ones.

edit: Here's some writeups to look at. I don't know if they're exactly what you're looking for but it should atleast give you an idea.

So... is it a 5 lug Tacoma then, because if it is, the 6 lug suspension definitely won't work on it.

It won't work. The suspension on the Prerunners and 4x4s is different than that of the 5 lug, which you have.

I can see the shiocks/springs for the rear suspension working ok, but not sure about the front. Another guy had the TSB done on the rear suspension of his 5 lugger. I think the dealer told him the rear shocks/springs were all the same, just how they mount to axle is different. I think the front springs are different though.

Sorry, I don't have any knowledge of the Prerunners or TRDs, as I have a base model too. I'm interested to see how it turns out though.
