While I'm typing. I was on South Main Street in Sharon, MA and saw a white 3rd Gen on a ramp truck. Had left front damage that looked fresh. I'm just wondering if it was someone on the forum.

That socket looks like it is for sending units, like oil pressure, coolant temp, etc.

Good thought, thanks. Looking on line, it sure looks like it.

Haven't used it in forever but I bet it's what Nick said, I remember the oil unit on my old Camaro went and my friend's dad had a socket very similar to this if not the same

From what I saw on line, I think you're both right. I don't know why I kept it all these years.

Oooff, yeah Moreau is tough, especially Spire Falls stuff. I’ve found my self carrying my bike up totally unrideable (to me) stuff only to get passed by some older guys on hard tales not even breathing hard. Stout trails for sure.

The only reason I recognized it, I recently used one at work, and I remembered the weird flutes inside the socket (it is like a 12 point, but the splines are shallower). A 12 point socket could work, but the sensor could get stuck inside the socket.

I do too. I actually liked the plastic twist lock plug on my last F-150. People complained about them but it was nice not needing to drag tools under the truck with me to change the oil. This truck has a metal pan and plug again.
Hey, I've got one of those too! I bought a Craftsman toolbox from a guy once who ended up throwing in all the tools - apparently it was a relative's and he didn't want to deal with it. This was one of the ones that I was never able to identify - now I know!

Oooo, that's the fancy one that can use a wrench in addition to the 3/8" rachet! I have no earthly use of one now, but probably at least thought I would when I grabbed in along with some other stuff when we were liquidating my dad's business.

A lot of what I have is quantity over quality - I have huge drawers full of screwdrivers, pliers, and vice grips, but 80% of them are pretty terrible. I should just buy some nice sets and get rid of the rest. Having quadruples of every type of pliers and vice grips is pointless when they're all so awful that I just get frustrated whenever I use them.

I just went through my wrenches - the girlfriend got me nice set of ratcheting wrenches and I kept only the best of the regular wrenches. I took the worst condition or cheapest brand ones and put them all in a box by the road. They went quick.

I am a fiend for quality especially tools.

if you can get vice grips that are NOS and US made, you won’t have to deal with the shitty one’s ever again. Wera screwdrivers and knipex anything. Buy once cry once. But you will cry at the sight of your wallet lol

I'll pm you the 2 roads i took. Hit a mud puddle and nailed my front skid. Nothing super technicalbut a fun ride There was more i didn't get to. Different level of fux given when wheeling solo with your kids and dog I guess.

Wife and I will be up there for that too!

We did go to Foss mountain for a short hike. Drive up was steep AF and not really under control until 4wd.
Place was covered in blueberries. Nice views and no crowds.

So riding heavy and flying down a mountain gives the brakes a workout. Low and slow would've been better just not as fun. I'll do a brake job this week and flush my freshly boiled fluid.

Yup plus they don't make a lot of it like they once did. My 10" Vise Grips are pushing 40 years old and still work perfect each time, every time.

A "service dog" just stole my breakfast right off the plate while the owner asked it very politely and quietly to "sit", over and over, while it climbed up on the chair opposite me, ate my food, and then climbed down.

Not a word to me, mind you.

When I got up to get another plate I asked if I should grab an extra for the dog and the dog's owner looked shocked and told me there was no reason to be rude.

You ever just... Want to throw someone into the sun?
