I’m so fucking in love with this thing. I can’t get over the ride and handling. She’s officially what I will call ready for dirt.

I will be for sure. Left them long until I knew the pinion angle was shimmed right.

It’s the only think I could pick apart on your truck because otherwise the thing is PERFECT.

Honestly I’m kinda sad that the build is over because I loved getting the daily text updates of the project.

Thank you! I look over my shoulder about 10 times every time I walk away from it. She’s easy to look at.

I really appreciate that, it means lots coming from you!

All I can say is WOW. The testimonies about the howe pump are true, it really is a night and day difference. The steering wheel is so light that it feels like I’m driving a Camry. I can’t wait to play with it offroad.

Offroad is where it really shines. Wait for the first bump you hit as you prepare to try to keep the wheel from slipping out of your hand and then nothing happens....it feels almost unnatural after years of the constant hard feedback.

I can believe it. Even driving down the road I was a bit squirrelly because I was giving the steering wheel too much input since I’m so used to having to use a bit of muscle to get around. Now I turn the steering wheel the slightest bit and the truck reacts. It’s fantastic and I can’t imagine using a quickener. I can see why Harry won’t sell it to the general population.

The quickener I believe actually makes the wheel heavier. But, a moron could find themselves in the bushes real quick with some panic steer. Main reason I haven’t done a quickener yet is I have mixed feelings about added play in the wheel.

Mmmmm, howe bubble party. I thought I had it thoroughly bled it but after a few minutes of driving the pump develops a whine and I found this in the reservoir. Gonna double check all fittings and bleed again before I fuck up this pump.

edit: found that each end of the high pressure is seeping a little. I’ll pull the truck in the garage tomorrow and troubleshoot it more.

That’s more than I was getting. Probably got a big bubble in there somewhere. My high pressure pump outlet seeped for a while and I finally got it to stop. Apparently most of my air bled out through there.

I’m gonna try howes bleeding instructions and see where that gets me. I’m gonna be chasing that high of the first test drive because that was buttery smooth. I also found this old thread on pirate with some good info too.

I stumbled on that thread too. The cranking the truck without starting it then cycling the steering a few times after got a good amount of air out. Then starting it waiting 5 minutes and cycling steering 5-15 times got whatever else I had left in it. Now I just keep thinking the weird whine of the 4.0 is the pump but it’s just the engine.

I’m in North Raleigh, NC btw. I see you’re in VA. We gotta wheel sometime.
