SSB = Super Short Bed. :D

Little sucker would tow a small trailer just fine until I found an old truck.

Let me know if you need help ferrying something eastbound though I hope to bypass the Portland area next month and just take 101 up and around the coast after Bend to see my first grandson near Olympic NP visitor center. Yes, I have my national park senior pass in the truck. Leupold 'scopes is in Beaverton... I used to listen to guys debate 'scopes in Cordova, and then I moved back down to north Idaho, volunteered with the airport association that put on a big open hangars event in 2012, and since the Wallace Brewing beer garden (Cd'A Airport Association president grew up in the Wallace area) had just tapped a fresh keg before the event shutdown at 4, several of us volunteers sat around to deplete it as best we could, while waiting for the deputy sheriff to depart. While we were waiting, the wife of the architect that I helped at the book signers' hangar mentioned that she wrote the insurance policy for NightForce 'scopes in Orofino. Those were highly regarded in AK and I lived in that town, in an apartment between the Clearwater National Forest Supervisor's Office and the FS Warehouse. One of the shortest walks to work I've had, and the warehouse guys are the best!
Anyhow, I just came in to rehydrate after installing a smooth gray HDPE tailgate insert. My knees feel better just looking at it!
Water first then I may follow up with Dad's "Doctor's orders." (He'd have a can of Coors in a glass with a small bowl of potato chips, and after he'd tell Doctor Moran about his routine, the Doc would say, "Well, keep doing what you're doing." Doctor's orders kept him going to 92, so he'd say he "had a good run."
Off to post a photo in "What have you done to your 2nd Gen today?"
Be well, and it's OK to put wheelie casters on that Yaris... ( Kids might need it. Dads get a kick out of watching their kids learning to drive, pulling up to a stop sign and revving the engine with a disappointed look until Dad explains the Traction Control... Child proofing the burnouts...)

It's been done before... A Cordova fisherman chopped off the back of a very fuel-efficient VW automobile that he drove up from the lower 48 in the spring (gas has always been at least $5 a gallon in Canada) and used it to haul his drift gillnets. One net would put a sag into it but to travel between storage and the loading dock was no big deal for that short and slow trip. Another guy bought five old Rabbit pickups and cobbled two together over the winter, sold one and brought the other up to serve his commercial gillnet season. Everybody needs projects...
