Looks pretty, overpriced, doesn't offer any real protection. Also doesn't have a hole to get to your oil filter so you have to drop it every time.

The TRD one I see has a plate you remove to access the old filter so you don't have to drop it every time. I don't do a ton of hard core off roading so don't need anything too OP. Looking for that extra protection especially with these PA crap roads and it looks nice.

Must have changed it since I looked last. I still think aluminum skids aren't worth the money.

Took the 3rd gen in for its last free service at 20k miles today. So, the oil changes and such are finally on me.

    20220708_160919.jpg

Was going to redo the front brakes on the 2nd gen tomorrow, but we're going to look at a replacement vehicle for grandmother tomorrow. Her Liberty is falling apart and probably needs $6000 worth of work (new transmission, front wheel bearings, rear brake calipers, and new rockers) and it's just not worth that much. She trust my judgment on vehicles, so here we go again...

Just put new leaf liners in my Dakars and holy shit you can't hear me coming from a mile up the road!

The difference between the new and old is amazing, and ARB refined the liners a bit more so they're wider than they used to be.

Looks good. I've been craving a pretzel breakfast sandwich from the pretzel shop recently and today we had time and scooted down to the south side , could hardly wait, talked about what else we can grab while we r there , get close to the store and street was empty and I thought great I can park right in front , then the 2 umbrella tables were also empty and wow its our day .... then we saw the sign on the door .... on vacation be back next week !! Enjoy ur cakes David.

Gravel "alert" in West Mifflin . Around century 3 mall and up on the hill they are tar n chipping but they are not sweeping up the excess stones , at least not yet. It's a mess , dusty and you can hear the stones hitting the underside .... when you turn u slide a bit and spin the wheels when accelerating. I don't know how they get away with this , it's an easy accident with a motorcycle. Be safe.

ah man! I can envision the excitement leading up to the point where you saw their vacation sign :(

If it helps, you have inspired me to get some bagel buns during my next grocery order so I can make some bacon, egg and cheese next time I do a campfire breakfast.

Actually had a friend die from this years and years back. They tar'd and chipped a mountain road without cleaning up excess and she lost control in the mess.

Terrible. It's a bad situation, one for lawyers to work out.
