Back up camera relocation kit not working

    Making this post because I need some help or any advice on how to get a relocation camera working on my 2013 tacoma, when i plug it on my og camera it seems to work fine and then when i plug it to the new kit it doesnt work at all, tried it with 2 different relocation kits and nothing, any ideas of issue? Thanks in advance

    Make sure your kit cameras is the right voltage. The stock camera is 6v

    The kit i got is from aiden james customs, and unfortunately it doesn’t say if its 6v i plugged everything in and nothing happens

    It seems to be an aftermarket 12v camera since you are not using the OEM.
    That kit looks pretty straightforward to hookup. Plug in connector at oem plug, hook up rca video cables, and hook red wire to 12V.
    My guess is no 12v at the red camera wire. Verify that the red power wire has 12v. Not sure if you tapped it at the trailer plug or at the reverse light trigger wire at the rear tailight assembly. If at the tailight assembly, it will only power on when truck is in reverse.

    Yeah thats the one, i plugged it in at the trailer plug, i could try the tail light it that makes more sense, im just clueless because its not working w 2 kits i got

    get a 12volt light tester and probe the red wire with the kit connected to see if there's 12 volt there or you can run a long wire to temporarily hookup that red wire directly to the battery post to see if the camera kicks on. That would confirm a faulty hookup at the trailer plug. The youtube aiden james install video on their tacoma looked pretty straightforward.
