I honestly don't know much about the brewing process itself, so someone else may be able to step in and help out here, but I believe what gives most New England and Hazy IPA's their opaque appearance is that they are largely unfiltered.

Went to Bound's Beverage in Warrington, PA not knowing what I was gonna get; I love Old Engine Oil, and I found their last case by accident. It's almost like it was destiny, so I bought it...

Yeah, pretty good. A bit on the sweeter side, but that's to be expected with 2 lbs of lactose in a 6 gallon batch. It finished a 8% ABV and I was targeting about 7%, so the alcohol is also adding some extra sweetness as well. To get the banana I used a banana-forward Hefeweizen yeast, but it's a little hard to pick it up thru the hop flavor, but I do pick it up on the finish every so often. I still need to add another round of keg hops, which will bury it even more. All in all, a nice refreshing Hazy, nonetheless.

I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to enjoy a lager again after all the different craft beers. Drank this because it was left at my house, no better than a Miller Lite.

Liking bigger IPA's, I've thought the same thing. I'm now trying to find my taste in the nicer Pilsners, as I need an easier drinking beer for post-MTB rides and summer afternoons.

    • Pilsner Urquell,
    • CzechVar, aka Budvar, aka Budweiser (in Czech republic and Europe only) - My personal favorite
    • Bohemia - Mexican pilsner by German guys in Mexico I think.

You can drink each of these all day, and they each have a tiny bite, are flavorful, and won't feel like you've eaten a full steak after each one.

I've had Urquell before, but with all of the great local CO craft breweries, I'm making my rounds on their offerings. So far the High Peak pilsner from Outer Range is holding the top spot, but I'm early in my journey.
