265/70/17 will fit a stock Sport, but you may need to remove mud flaps.

Stock 265/65/17 tires on the Sport now are 30.55" at 37 to 40 lbs Toyo's

The ones below are 265/70/17 pretty much the same price; weight difference shown is either a S1 or E rating

    Toyo AT3 31.65 at 41 or 49 lbs Falken AT3W 31.89" at 47 or 53 lbs BFG KO2 31.6" at 48 or 54 lbs

Anyone try or is using one of these?

I had the Falkens in SL. They were a good tire and a perfect buy when I got them at $135 each. Wet handling dropped off significantly when worn, but only when pushing the tires (read: having fun).

They lasted almost 55k and had more dry wear left in them.

Current prices were not acceptable when there were interesting tires for less. I was looking at Cooper Rugged Trex in XL and Nokian Outpost ATs in SL. Went with the Nokians as an experiment when the price dropped to $178 each.

Price now is around for a good TA tire is $200-$300 and most are $250,
Wonder why Toyota picked the 17" rim for the Sport?
Off-Road and Pro are 16's are they not?

The KO2 and Toyos were not on my list.

I prefer the 17s since there is still plenty of sidewall and has a much greater selection of tires, esp in 265/70R17.

I developed a hatred of larger car tires when prices were hovering around $1,200 OTD for a set of very good all season tires that would only last about 25k. $906 for the Taco is pushing my envelope, but at least I will get significant mileage out of them.

both are a 33" tire. one is just .5" taller.

every truck is a little diffrent. some rub. some dont.

33" tires is pushing it. you most likely will rub on the corners of your bumper. might have to trim it like in the pictures posted here already.

Why? The 18"s look like a perfect proportion imo on the 3rd gen. Got some 18x9, 0 offsets waiting after i do a lift and then some 275/65/18s are getting mounted on.

My next set will be 255 33" tires. I have no need for bloated tires.

The look is good no doubt. Just the extra rubber for comfort and airing down would have been nice.

    I need a good 50/50 Tire
I have BFG's on my Jeep and they fair OK.

The Duratrac A/T would be an option if I knew how they would hold up under the Tacoma.
This will be a investment as I want to get a nice tire and it will require me getting 0-negative offset wheel as the stock 17" is a +30.

I do not want to "fit" a tire on the stock wheel and hope it will work well.
I was told a 265/70/17 would fit the Sports 17's but I am not sure.

These fit with zero rub, except maybe with the crappy Toyota mud flaps. You don't want those rigid ones off road anyway.

I am running the Toyo's in the 70 series. I bought SL tires. I am running them on TRD Pro replica wheels with +5 offset, I had to trim the mud flaps, still rubs on the left one at full lock... been running them for about 6000 kms. I am happy with them.

2" factory TRD lift, 17" TRD 4runner wheels on 255/75/17 BFG K02s. This size makes the tires just a touch over 32" tall.

What is the distance from the center of your hubs/axles to the bottom edge of the fender/flare?
That will help in seeing where this thing is now with these stock Hitachi shocks.
I am pretty sure they are the same length as the off-road Bilstein's.
