They fit just like factory. Color matched pretty well to me. Could not tell any difference at all. The quality seems fine for the set I received.

Oook ... so ... yeah. With my lower back issues occasionally flaring up I wanted a driver side grab handle to simplify my life.

TL,DR: I bought the handle, install was simple, and it works well. :notsure:

I pulled the trigger with eyes wide open, expecting the worst, and bought the handle from ****. It was *on sale* for $135 and arrived in the mail four days later. Everything needed in the package was there and the quality was good.

I did buy a replacement clip nut from Autozone ($4, M6x1.0) that has a protrusion that fits into the bracket hole and doesn't allow it to move when trying to line up the bolt. Others have had issues with the provided clip nut failing and/or moving.

Start to finish, including walking back to the garage twice to get a different ratchet and a flashlight, was ~20 minutes. Fit, finish, and quality were good. The lower bolt cover doesn't quite fit perfectly but that was probably due to me not looking carefully to line up the plastic pins before I pushed it on.

    1. It fits great and I can really torque on it while grabbing the handle. I have confidence it's not going anywhere.
    2. Looks like OEM, no complaints.
    3. Install was simple. I had no issues lining up the bolts like many others have had.
    4. Anticipating future lower back flare ups I'm super happy with the installed handle.
    5. The multiple videos I watched none mentioned disconnecting the battery. I think it's a good plan when working around an air bag.

    I dunno, I lucked out.

Does anyone know the Toyota part number for the lower bolt hole snap-on cover?

There is no Toyota part number as Toyota does not produce a grab handle for the 3rd Gen Tacoma.

I thought the passenger side handle covers will work. No?

No, sorry. If you take a look while inside your truck you will see that they are not even close to the same.

Dammit, I’ve sworn I won’t order one of these because of all the BS that has went along with this company and how they fill orders, but these recent positive reviews have me wondering about giving it a shot. It would be nice to have a driver’s side grab handle.

I feel your pain. I have one and am glad I do, but I do wish it was a little better quality. I wouldn't mind getting the rear handles as well, but not with the quality I've experienced as well as others' experiences here.

Yep, I completely agree. I would not have risked it if I didn't have a specific need.

That’s good to know. Maybe I’ll hold off until they have a sale again and keep an eye on this thread to see what other impressions are given.

Received mine in 4 days..I dreaded installing this!!!!

My wife can't get into truck without pulling on steering wheel

So I bought the m6-1.0 Clip ( came with 2pcs.) from AutoZone and followed the video on YouTube...I had it installed in about 30 mins...the bottom bolt went in easily after a few trys ...DO NOT TIGHTEN IT JUST GET IT STARTED THEN MOVE TO THE TOP BOLT THAT ONE WAS TRICKY...I HAD TO TWIST THE ENTIRE PIECE AND VISUALLY SEE THE SCREW GO IN...Big screw in the bottom, small at top!!!!

Then I tightened that Mo***r***ker down!!!!

No way I would try that flimsy piece of crap clip that was provided..GET THE ((---≥≥≥ M6-1.0 ≤≤≤-)) piece and it will be a quicker install!!!!

ITS SOLID AS A FREAKIN ROCK!!!!

My wife uses it everytime she gets in!!!

They're mirrored parts at best. Soooo, you got hosed on a bad situation, but still a good mod to TL;DR to others?

IMG-2369.jpg Yes, get the replacement clip. Pictured is the version I bought at Autozone.

I also did the lower bolt first then the upper bolt.

To get the upper bolt started I had to twist the handle up and forward.

LOL, with 302(!!) pages of negative comments I'm not saying it will work for anyone else. The mod was important for me, I accepted the risk and it worked out. The cover issue is minor and I'm the only one who will probably notice it.

For fun I'll email **** and see if I can get a replacement. I can win the lottery twice ... right? ...

No. But if it's a loose fit, put a small piece of dum-dum (tacky rope caulk that never hardens) to hold it in place. I put a piece on my top cover. It works great and will still be removable in the future if necessary.

Be patient. I'm still waiting for a response to the email and contact form I sent back in February when one of the bowl lights I got was defective. Maybe it will come today? :fingerscrossed:
