Same story different day. I am looking to go up from 33's to 35's on my 2015 Dblc. So the specific question is this: I have an opportunity to pick up some Level 8 mk6 wheels that are 17 x 9 with a -12 offset. Is this a good wheel to run 35's with? I will have TC UPC's with 2.5 to 3" of lift up front, and... I know there is a lot to do to make it work. My concern is the rim width and offset with 12.5 wide tires which it seems I will have to embrace. Will those rims work with the crop of 35's currently available without problems?

They’ll be fine. With the wider wheel it will make the tire pattern wider to, and likely require additional cutting over a skinner wheel/tire combo.

what about my wheels with a 4.75” backspacing, i’ve heard other people here have had issues with rubbing the UCA with a larger backspacing without a wheel spacer, which i’m not a fan of having to run

I'm going to mount up 35's on my 06 after I chop the cab mount, if you go to jba website he has a section on tire size and wheel backspacing, sorry don't have a link, i was planning on -12 backspacing, i have jba, uca's so there may be a difference with clearance. Did you try contacting total chaos? They should know be able to steer you in the right direction.

You won't have any problems if you're driving in a straight line. Once you start turning and articulating over stuff you're gonna rub. You'll need a CMC, flatten pinch weld and possible fender liner trimming. I have a 6" lift running 17x9 KMC km229 3.5" BS wheels with 35x12.5 with all of that done and I'm still rubbing slightly. But then again my swaybar has been deleted. If you keep your swaybar you might not run into the issues that I am.

9" wide wheel with a -12 offset has a backspacing of 4.5", which still would likely rub the UCA. More ideal if it was an 8" wide wheel which would make the bs at 4". Spacers are unavoidable with your current wheels.

Mine have a -38 offset and there's plenty of room at the UCA but with the wheel being pushed out is where the rubbing issues happen. There's no rubbing at all turning on a flat surface but when offroading and turning over a rock or mound of dirt is when the 35's rub. I think I have it under control now with the help of a :sawzall:

    That's a 4.75" backspacing, no doubt it'll rub the ucas with 35s.

I run 17x9 -12 Racelines on 35 KO2's. No issue with UCA but tons of rubbing at cab mount. I can street drive mine lock to lock with CMC, pinch weld pounding, and slight flare and fender trimming. Although when completely compressed and turning still get some rub. I also modified my inner plastic liner and kept it.

    Pre CMC

Nice! Thanks for that. I know there is some fabrication/modification to be done... That is the fun part. Getting the wrong wheels not so much.
