Mods? We don't need no stinking mods.
Hold out. The LED lights are a mandatory accessory, imo. And the navigation is a total waste of money. I don't have the tech package on mine, and don't regret it at all.

I've gotten so used to those features that I will have to have them on every car/truck I own from now on.

I’m in Florida and went through this in November. Had a 2017 2wd OR premium tech that was rear ended and totaled. Had two deposits down for 4 months for an off-road with tech and advanced tech with LEDs in lunar rock. After 4-1/2 months I found a lunar rock off road with tech package only a state away and jumped on it. I wouldn’t want to give up the tech package. I was willing to pass on the other stuff bc I can add the lights and leather. But I like the rear alerts, I drive a lot for work and it genuinely helps me back into busy streets. I wanted to keep waiting for what I wanted but not a lot of trucks come to FL right now. The rental car was covered for a month but after that it was $1200 a friggen month for a rental car. Try explaining that to your wife lol. It’s hard to say what you should do, I was all about getting exactly what I wanted until my “2-3 month wait” turned into 4 without an allocation

Txs. All stuff, I gladly don't have on my '17. I also get a kick out of people who must have power seats. Like how often are people pressing this button instead of a pull tab??????

The new adjustable driver seat is 100x better than my 2017’s seats. It’s not the electric it’s the multiple ways to adjust it, especially the up and down. The passenger is still the same as it was, screw em lol

Living here in new england the salt capital of the u.s., i did my tacoma with cosmoline over 2 years ago. its holding up just fine. I use to use fluid flim on my tundra, but it got to be a pain every year to reapply it for the next winter as it wash's off pretty easy when your on the the wet slushy salty roads here. The cosmoline was a more permanent option for me. Both work well, just comes down to doing the same job every fall, or one, and done with maybe a minor touchup or two.

Yup, navigation sucks because you can not type while moving.. you have to stop the vehicle before the most features/keyboard enable.

    I got Garmin GPS instead.

@rorgan You can get a truck without led headlights then you can upgrade your headlights to led headlights or XB headlights.. that way, you don't have to wait much longer a truck with led headlights.

There are aftermarket headlights that are similar to factory led headlights. Look around.. Most vendors have those all kinds of headlights such as TacomaBeast, ebay, Amazon, etc. Or other option is that you can get BHLM.

I don't have tech pkg on my '17 Tacoma.. I don't need those.. I upgraded my truck with my headlights, and other mods.. I am working on adding more.

Ram was offering financing incentives, currently it looked like the O% was only for 1500 Long Horn editions, I don't know the specifics.

I only brought it up as the truck would be available for delivery, the trucks I saw are listed below MSRP, I think it's a factory incentive. The 0% may or may not be applied with the discount. But if you can get a truck now below MSRP, and save money on financing if not buying out right that's not a bad deal financially.

If you want a Tacoma, or Tundra, or truck from Ford or GM. Ram incentives might not matter, if you need a truck now, and are willing to drive the Ram. Plenty of people do, you don't have to keep it if you don't want to.

You might not make any money in the process, but you might not lose much either.

I mostly thought about the Ram because of the amount of tech those trucks can offer.

Two options for people who are looking for a special option Tacoma.
    1. Order it and hope everything goes well and hopefully on time.
    2. Find one someone ordered and bought something else or find a dealer in the US that will/can get the truck you want.

#2 Is getting to be the most relevant today with availability.
The northwest and southeast are good spots to look for dealerships. If you find one have them, send you a video of the vehicle.
Place a deposit over the phone and get a airplane ticket ONEWAY, because you will be driving it back home.

Sometimes (like these times) you must think out of the box.
If the Tacoma cannot make it to you, GO to the Tacoma!

Since you keep your vehicles a long time, it may be worth holding out.
That said, I heard rumors that the 'loaded' vehicles are difficult to get because of chip shortages.
I have a base model OR. No tech or advanced packages. I would have liked the JBL option, but not a big deal. LEDs are nice but not needed.
It has everything I put on my must have list. DCSB V6/Auto 4X4. It's a nice truck. No regrets here.

I've got a Subaru, and with Android Auto, Google Maps is quite excellent, and sending a text message is as simple as pressing the Voice button, and saying "Send a text message to <your_contact's_name>" where that contact name appears in your contact list on the phone. No need to take your hands off the wheel. I presume it would work the same in the Tacoma. I'm certainly hoping so. :popcorn:66

FWIW with respect to BSM and RCTA, both on the same Subaru, both came in VERY handy a number of times. BSM, because on I-285 around metro ATL, 8 lanes in both directions, with cars zipping in and out of lanes, and motorcycles sometimes riding in between lanes. RCTA, because people often speed through parking lots, and younger people often looking down at their phones and not at you backing up.[/QUOTE]

Mine is a '17 that means I don't have car play or android auto that came from the factory. I know there are aftermarket head unit that has CP/AA features. That will be much later since I am working on something else first.

If you're asking, you should wait. You're going to regret not having it. Mine has the tech package and the top of the line LED headlights are badass. I'm a sucker for good headlights though.

The BSM is nice but the main reason I wanted the tech package was for the factory installed color matched rear bumper covers. Didn't end up getting my OR with that specific trim level, but I did get the LEDs... Again totally worth it

I feel the same, but I originally wanted a TRD OR long bed with the tech package... In Lunar Rock

I was able to find a short bed without the tech package, but it had the other goodies, so it wasn't a bad compromise at all considering the color I got.

I resemble that remark! I actually added the chrome exhaust tip. :)
If people don't like chrome, they can kiss my ... tailgate?
    Just kidding. LOL
