If you are setup with a wiring harness I’d still run them. The low beam performance isn’t that much less than the Superbrights. But when it comes time for replacement the Superbrights are a better performing bulb. Disappointing for sure they were not on par with the Osram Hypers.

With all due respect, @crashnburn80, that's not always the case. Neither my nor my son's '04 were ground-switched. Both were conventional/power switched. We moved both of our conventional/power switched harnesses from our '04 TRDOR Xtracabs to (my) '13 TRDOR Access Cab and (his) '10 TRDOR DCSB. Both work(ed) flawlessly in all four trucks.

I suppose the correct answer is to run the test procedure in the original post to determine your electrical system. I should run the test on my 03 as well.

I have a 2006 TRD sport. Wanna get the smoked TRDs. Anyone have a good link? Seems like there are a lot of fakes now. Not sure I wanna go with a new wiring harness so I wanna keep the electrical stock. Should I swap out the bulbs with something else besides stock before I install the new headlights?

edit: i am ordering the trd smoked headlights linked on page 1
edit 2: they want $90 for shipping! gotta keep shopping

Search by part number from the original post for shopping online, then buy from a Toyota dealer online, you'll be guaranteed an original OEM part.

never give them any money, ever.
this is the 2nd gen section but since no aftermarket product beats OEM, open them up and black out the trim if you mist

For third gen it’s a blanket recommendation to go OEM LED but you will need the puppypunter designed and FBC sold harness for SR5

No worries Joe, just check the beginning of this thread to see what we’re talkin’ about. Sure, there’s lotsa good aftermarket upgrades but when it come to lights there is no compromise from Stock.

I need some help here guys. I did this upgrade following original post instructions last December and used the Osram 100/90 bulbs listed in the original post.
One of my bulbs has now burned out and these bulbs are OOS everywhere, power bulbs won’t ship to my state.
What’s a recommendation for a good bulb I can find domestically (US) that will maximize the added power capability of my solutions harness?

The other places are large major companies, HLS is a small enthusiast run business. Things cost more when not at scale. Pricing might not be the most competitive but he’s gone out of his way to import them mainly for the Toyota community and make them available for us here. Easy to say kinda shitty that it costs more, but also kinda awesome someone has made them available when all the the other supply chains have failed.

You're right. Apologies for the semi-pretentious remark last night, I was half asleep and it was very poor taste of me.

BTW- thanks for putting all this info together for us. The headlightsolutions harness is solid (coming from an electrical engineer, I was impressed), and we should be supporting small business in this time even if I have to pay $10 more for bulbs.
