This what I'm wanting to try. But where can I get the metal to fabricate this from, Lowes ? Home depot did not seem have very thick or even large enough surface area metal sheet to use.
Also is there specific grade of steel to get to use for a repair like this ?

You’re not going to find it at Home Depot. I would guess you want 3/16” mild steel plate at a minimum.

What I don't understand is a similar year Lexus GX, Lexus LX, Toyota Land Cruiser won't have such a severe case of frame rot. Why the Tacoma gets it the worst I would like to know.

Yes, here in southern Indiana/Louisville, KY, there is a Metal Supermarket store. They have about anything you'd need.

Purchased some 1/8 metal from the local metal store. But just have figure out how to fabricate it because the boxed part has a curve in it.

Also if you're questioning how to cut the metal down, then you should probably bring it to a fab shop to get the work done....

EDIT - fyi the rear C-channel part of the frame is fine - mine is significantly worse lol, wire brush it down and treat it with some epoxy paint or something then fluid film it all.

Gorilla weld. Ugly, but strong. :)

What did you weld with? Sorry, but that looks terrible.
