I should! I’ve done zero wheeling so far this year and I feel like I’m missing out.

Does the poker run require registration or anything?

The ACTUAL Poker Run requires registration... because there are prizes and it's a group fundraiser. $55 includes one tri tip dinner ticket for Friday night and Poker Run Reg.
(also, part of that pot is for, I believe, cash prize for 1, 2, 3) Edit: Jen was actually listening during the Club Meeting on Wed. 1st = $150, 2nd = $100, 3rd = $50

Additional tri tip dinner tickets are $12

You can also buy raffle tickets (there actually a LOT of cool prizes, especially for Jeeps )

But the trail aint closed, no reason you can't just come up and wheel!

That goes for anyone here, BTW.

Niagara Rim Trail is a really good trail, really for all ability levels. The difficult section is only about 1/4 of the trail, but the rest of the trail has enough it makes it exciting. There are a couple optional parts that can get as hard as you want them to get (pretty hard) and there are a couple trail obsticals that have bypasses.

Tons of places to camp, and there are at least 4 "out roads" where you can completely bypass sections of the trail.

There will be plenty of people up there to spot people through things, and no one is going to make you go through something that you don't think you can do.

I've hung out with 4x4 In Motion a few times now, these are good people (the group running the Poker Run)

Dig it deep so there’s no chance of splash back.

Never move a rock that looks like it's already been moved. Chances are someone already had the same idea your having.

I’m almost 100% pack it out. Most places need it. Otherwise they will be closed before we know it. I advocate to carry a shit bucket because the less holes dug the longer trails will be open. Plus most people don’t get it and dig a 3” hole and sprinkle dirt on it…ugh it’s a sore spot for me .

If you’re planning to go to Yosemite, 41 is closed from the entrance station through to Wawona (and the Wawona area sounds like it’s being evacuated) due Mariposa Grove wildfire.

Getting older and the knees don't work as well, the shitbucket is awesome. i'm always curious if i could make a bipod cheek rest for backpacking but i can already see the worst and the poles just making shitlines as I twist and turn trying to unbuckle the contraption from my ass. at least with the bucket i'm not contributing to the forest land mines that are sometimes 'marked' with the little flag of toilet paper that probably stuck to their bum and came off after backfilling the hole
