How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

I'm in the cursed 6/4 group. DCLB TRD Sport 4x4

Mine is in the same 6/4 build limbo, no updates per @Rod03 and dealer has no info either. Mine does NOT have BSM or RCTA, so no need for the chip that works those, must be something else holding it up.

 

I did get my first Multiple Door Unlock notification on the Toyota app 3 days ago, and it's showing a little bit of fuel. Rod checked after that and no updates, but it's got me hoping something will move.

Anyone else waiting for a 6/4 build get door unlock notifications?

True - but no idea how long to offload and get on a truck. My bday is 07/29 - not feeling optimistic. :|

 

My Tacoma came out to $73,000
Scammed and lied to by Toyota in Washington.
July 2021 I saw a Tacoma for $41,000
2021 Tacoma Off Road Premium Manual in white..
They would not accept a deposit without you accepting the $4,000 Markup. Basically a deal or no deal @ $45,000
Waited 4 months for it. Truck Arrived at dealer in Washington. I live in California. I was going to pay cash. They said "Mandatory Financing" No Cash Deals. "Mandatory extended warranties and mandatory prepaid maintenance plans". They added about $20k in add ons.
They held my truck their for 2 months while we argued back and forth over the phone. They said deal or no deal.
I said ok deal if you write it down on paper that's its all mandatory. They did not. So I was able to delete some add ons. They charged $6,700 for taxes and registration.
I paid $1,200 for shipping. Then DMV in CALIFORNIA asked for $6,700 as well. I demanded the Toyota dealer a refund for the first $6,700 and it took them 3 months to send the check. What a nightmare! The Tundras were $90,000+
Filed a complaint and Toyota Corporate said they are investigating many dealers doing the "Mandatory Add Ons" Because on paper they don't put that. So its illegal. On the contracts it says optional and they make it look like you opted in for the add ons. So lots of dealers are getting in trouble for scamming buyers.
I traveled to 9 states and 15 Dealers to find a Tacoma. Spent around $1,800 in flights and fuel to try and buy a Tacoma.
9 of those Toyota Dealers said they wouldn't sell to California Buyers unless I registered in their state. Of which you can't register unless you change your drivers license to that state. So that didn't work out. I had no choice but to get the Tacoma from Washington since I had already sold my primary vehicle

The Dealer should be able to give you Permanent Vin # especially if he knows it is delayed

 

I can empathize with you as I never received an allocation after nearly 5 months, and only got my Tacoma after requesting a dealer trade. Part of me is convinced that happened only because it was at the end of the calendar quarter and therefore both dealers may have been incentivized to expedite sales. I'm happy now but the wait was nauseating.

But like BHC said, let us know more details about your location and configuration you're looking for. Also are you working with a single or multiple dealers?

 

Sorry man that's perhaps the worst experience I've read on this thread yet. Did you receive anything in writing initially for the $45K like a purchase contract or even an email? You might want to file a complaint with the Washington state attorney general. My state's AG recently fined a Kia dealership $1MM for hidden fees. But why did you have to travel to 9 states just during the search process?

 

That's awful. Regarding the VIN are you saying you never received it or that you weren't able to use it to get updates? If you know the number then maybe you can use it to track the truck to see whether it has been sold or not. If you don't have the number, try looking for it via the spreadsheet.

 

If anyone is looking for a lunar rock Sport manual with premium and tech packages a dealership in PA (near Philly) had one allocated and unreserved as of Friday afternoon. No they wouldn't write up a contract until 4 months later when Truck was Delivered to Dealer in November.
I didn't get the truck until January. 2 months of fighting back and forth. I didn't walk away because I had already lost 4 months, didn't want to wait another 4 months. I was without a vehcile. Just booking rental cars until my truck arrived. And the reason for traveling out of state. Most states would not sell to California and there were Tacomas in stock to look at. I had to ask someone to let me see the inside of their Tacoma. Dealers were literally empty.

 

What’s interesting is now there are Tacomas in California and nowhere else. I was searching in other states and California dealers had the ones I wanted when no other states did. Of course they all had $10k market adjustments.

 

That gives me some hope that mine will be on there too!
