    Same here. Most of the time it was post hole diggers and "they better all be dug tomorrow when I get home". He worked on 24 off 48 at the FD.

    Is your soil real Rocky down there?

    post holes meant lots of Rocks a digging bar and shovel seldom would a two handled post hole digger ever work.

    I'm glad to see them, I use one on the old lathe and it would stick. You look down and the end wouldn't even be touching the cross slide :eek:

    Repo`d tools were seldom and far between most often big ticket items I had already

    If the price was right I would always buy used tools

    This talk about digging post holes reminded me of a pole on the back of mom and dads barn. He added a shed for the cows back there when I was little (1980's) using old power poles he got from a friend. About 14 years ago I said you need to replace that one on the corner, it's almost rotten. He said it looked like that when I put it up :eek:

    Morning all. Little slow getting going here today. Got back home about 12:30 or so this morning. Unloaded some stuff from the truck and camper and ran a cord to keep the fridge on in the camper. It was about 1:45 by the time I hit the pillow. Wide awake at 5:30.
    Team did good. Won 2 games yesterday but lost the championship game. Played a good game just not as good as the other team. Home for a few days then back at it on Thursday for a 4 day national tournament. Should be a good time.

    Per the poll. Back when I worked in a mechanic shop I bought a lot of tools. I didn’t have many bills at the time so was able to buy most anything I needed. The shop had a bunch of tools also but nice to have something to call your own. I still have them. MAC box full of mostly MAC and snap-on tools. No longer have the MAC truck but snap-on shows up every other week to my dads shop. I visit and look at things I don’t need now and never buy anything.

    My Grandpa tells a funny story about setting fence posts as a young boy, he had 2 brothers to help him.

    Anyway, his dad insisted that the 8' fence post be set 4' into the ground. He would come back after they were done and measure, just to be sure. He told me that one day, they ran into a shelf of rock about 3' down and no amount of spud bar would break it. His older brother had the idea that they would cut off 12", chuck the bit they cut off into the woods as far as they could, put the cut end down in the hole and never speak of it again. As far as I know, their dad never found out about the 7' fence post only 3' in the ground.

    :rofl::rofl::rofl:
