You might get lucky if you still have one cat installed. I deleted the upstream one when I installed headers and as long as I didn't have exhaust leaks or cruising down mountain passed with no load the 420 code would stay away.

Anyone ever have a short in there Dome circuit? Just looking for a quick place to start before diving in.

Look at your kick panel area, the door closed switch. Most likely corroded or wire may be exposed. Mine was, new switches are not toyota specific and can get cheapish.

Got the Spiker hood struts installed yesterday. Will be nice to have the extra clearance for some of the upcoming jobs I have planned.

I guess I'll just remove the cat, retain the O2 sensor, and see what happens for now. :notsure:

Oh, and truck update - cut an even bigger hole in my floor.

So this showed up on a big freight truck. Driver was cool and brought it all the way up the driveway to the garage for me using the pallet jack. 4x2 -> 4x4 is definitely real now. Need to give this thing a good once over and wrap up a few other items (finish assembling the knuckles and button up the transfer case) then it will be time to start installing.

Transmission is out of a 99 4Runner, no collision damage. Tree limb took out its roof. 163k miles on it which is what I have on my A340E (163,720).

That looks like the type of 4Runner where I got my engine.

I’ve been running with no cat and the rear O2 sensor plugged in and tucked up above the heat shield for years now. The rear o2 doesn’t need to see any specific range of oxygen, just a steady stream so fresh air works. It’s just there to make sure the cat is cleaning up the constant switching from rich to lean that an efi engine uses to run. I did have to run a ground wire from one of the bolt holes to the chassis, but it works.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
    We made it

Didn't really break anything. Not sure about my rear locker. It stopped engaging halfway through Slick Rock.

At any rate... we didn't break anything to the point where we couldn't drive home.

Was an f'n WILD weekend though. Hooked up with the High Sierra Krawlers. For sure, those dudes are legit and cool as hell. We ran Slick Rock Sat, then Deere Valley on Sunday.

If you want a LONG f'n weekend. Be with a group that helps a 76 Chevy Long bed, through Slick Rock and Deere Valley. No lockers, on 35s, the power steer went out halfway through Slick Rock, and all day through Deere Valley, his fuel lines were overheating and shutting him down.

10 hours to run Deere Valley.

But, we made it to Lost Lake last night. Found @Impoy47 and ran Forestdale Divide OHV, and Strawberry Pass OHV today.

Nice view to wake up to.
