Nature does a great job with R&G. Trucks, not so much. :)

Open to trades but I like this style. Just couldn’t get ‘em in any other colour.

Same...my truck came from the factory with the black Baja wheels...my only complaint is that I haven't found them in a 17" to go up a size in tire and brakes.

The Toyota branded cooler and NRS style straps are a nice touch.

    So did mine. :fistbump:

But I'm too cheap to change out perfectly good parts.

I like it OK but wouldn't seek one out -- now a nice traditional tree green might be another story.

Well Wrenchmen, down through history man has wondered (when he can't sleep) "How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?" I don't actually know, nor care -- as long as the wildlife stays in the wild I don't give a darn what it does with its free time.

Today on Past Tech with Rusty we will explore a less common question: What makes the reciprocating saw reciprocate?

The Milwaukee Sawzall is the most famous of the kind, Sawzall has become a what is called a proprietary eponym -- like Cresent wrench or Kleenex, the brand name has become the common name.

Our unit today is a Sears, dating to about 1980, in our recent conversation about tools this one falls into my favorite type -- FREE.
The fellow says "it works but makes a noise and is missing some screws".

    KIMG2278.jpg

The magic mechanism lurks under the cover.

    KIMG2283.jpg

Under the center round disk is a right angle drive like a truck axle, the disk spins and the small roller, called a follower, forces the blade arm to move back and forth. This is with the blade all the way back.

    KIMG2285.jpg

    Blade moving forward.

    KIMG2279.jpg

Blade all the way forward. Repeat, repeat. :sawzall::sawzall:

    KIMG2281.jpg

The noise was from the tool being dropped on the nose bending it, vice and hammer fix, the screws were $3.75 at True Value. A little clean up, fresh grease and ready to go. A fun little low cost, low impact Monday project.

:gossip: If Mrs Green asks what I did today I can flesh this out so she doesn't think I just napped in the chair and drove around all day. ;);)
