Well the service director said it would be down for 3 weeks. I don’t know what’s involved. That’s just what he said. Maybe a nightmare because the shop is swamped. Either way he said warranty covers 5 days on truck rental he’ll cover after that so to me that gives it a sense of urgency since it’s a rental cost to them. Sorry bill. I’ll try to extract more info from the advisor when I go pick up rental today and post for you to check out. Thanks bro.

Now I call the shop and they say they’re waiting to hear from Toyota extended warranty on whether they’re gonna pay for a new head or head resurfacing I’m complaining because they’ve had the truck since the 24th of last month he said it’s only been technically eight work days I count Monday through Friday to be 11 work days as of today I smell bullshit so I called Toyota they have no record of any request being made under my extended warranty so I call the manager back and ask him how the hell are you waiting to hear back from Toyota when you guys haven’t put in a claim yet he said I called the wrong number I told him I called Toyota corporate where my warranty is he said you called the wrong number here is the number to call surprise it’s Toyota corporate warranty I get a different guy on the phone with the same answer the only thing on record is my fuel pump which was done last year so now I leave a text message with the Director of the service department asking him to call me in the morning because someone isn’t telling me the truth or there is a big error in communication. They gave me the song and dance this morning that it takes about four weeks for a job this big and they’re low on techs and they only have One guy they want to work on this because they don’t want to many hands under the hood which I agree with but I have a feeling my truck is sitting somewhere collecting dust while they work on other vehicles

So they overstate the difficulty of the job, blame Toyota for delays, insult your abilities to fact check, can't do basic math, all the while the only true fault is their ability to run a properly staffed service shop - lying, incompetent, or both.

I'd have it towed to another dealer. If they treat you like that, imagine how they will treat your truck.

 

They are probably used to dealing with 2nd gen clowns, those guys are dumb AF.

 

I don’t think so at all. From what you wrote it seems like they are not super concerned, well I’m not surprised. Sometimes they need a little nudge to get shit done.

Yes. Not gonna mention their names but there are 2 dudes that are pretty annoying, the only ones in my ignore list . Show up at every engine problem related thread and just can’t stfu.

Highly doubt that there are any 3rd genners that go over there and throw mud at their precious trucks.

Like we are all Tacoma owners, all gens are great in their own ways.
