    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
    We made it

Didn't really break anything. Not sure about my rear locker. It stopped engaging halfway through Slick Rock.

At any rate... we didn't break anything to the point where we couldn't drive home.

Was an f'n WILD weekend though. Hooked up with the High Sierra Krawlers. For sure, those dudes are legit and cool as hell. We ran Slick Rock Sat, then Deere Valley on Sunday.

If you want a LONG f'n weekend. Be with a group that helps a 76 Chevy Long bed, through Slick Rock and Deere Valley. No lockers, on 35s, the power steer went out halfway through Slick Rock, and all day through Deere Valley, his fuel lines were overheating and shutting him down.

10 hours to run Deere Valley.

But, we made it to Lost Lake last night. Found @Impoy47 and ran Forestdale Divide OHV, and Strawberry Pass OHV today.

Nice view to wake up to.

    AND... FWIW.

Slick Rock is absolutely NOT harder than Deere Valley.

Slick Rock is, like, 6.5 miles, with 4 big obsticals with fire roads between them.

Deere Valley on the other hand... ya, that's, like 8 miles of driving through a dried up boulder creek bed getting the ever lovin fucking shit beat out of you.

I feel like there isn’t any super hard spots on deer valley, just a long trail that kinda beats you up. But I can’t believe it took you guys 8 hours! I made it through in 4 hours my first trip through. Out of the two which did you like better? I’m leaning toward slick rock myself.

Not 8 hours... 10 hours... lol

It was mainly because dudes fuel would overheat and vapor lock. We would drive a quarter of a mile, then have to stop and wait 10-15 minutes, then do that again, and again, abd again, and again.

The other dudes I was with were in Jeeps on 37s, and a 3rd gen Toyota truck on 38 Swampers.

They probably would have had to wait a couple times for me, but we could have certainly done it in half the time it took us.

No rear locker was making it a pain in the ass, at times, for me... but we really didn't have any issues.

No rear locker made me winch the Gauntlet, at Slick Rock. (only winch I did on that trail).

I think I actually like Deere Valley more. I think it's actually more challenging. It's not "hard" but you have to be on your toes, and pick lines the entire trail. Slick Rock is cool, I'll definitely do it again, but with good spotter(s) I only had a problem at Gauntlet... and I almost kind of tipped on one of the first "waterfall" obsticals. That was fun, 2 corn fed rednecks had to grab my rear bumper cause my passenger rear tire was about 6 feet in the air.

Do you have a stock e locker? If so you could pull the actuator off and use a screw driver to engage the locker in a pinch.

I was making it through. The front was helping me out a lot. I just don't like using it more than I need to.

Didn't know about the screw driver trick.

The light was flashing at me and it definately wasn't engaging. I'm going to get under there and pull the guard and the actuator, to see what it is or isn't doing. I'm hoping maybe it just need to be cleaned up well. Maybe the plugs are dirty and need clean and dielectric grease... at least , that's what I'm hoping.

SAS would probably, actually, be less than half the cost of what I want to do.
