I think this might be the one. I've found a guy in Texas who wants to trade his 96 Taco for my 97 Cruiser. Pics below. Is this as good as I'm thinking?

Frame looks good, truck looks clean.

Love that style that looks much more 'square' and best of all, the graphics!

Finally getting rid of that Land Cruiser you hate so much huh?

I don’t hate it lol, I’m fact I’m sad to see it go. It’s a tough old beast that’s been good to me. Just feeling ready to shift my own gears again.

Does it look like there's a gap in the door frame from this angle? That wouldn't be a sign of an accident/frame damage would it?

Also it's a Houston vehicle but. I didn't see any evidence of flooding. There was minor damage reported to the front of the vehicle but he sent me pics and the front looks straight.

What do people think? Pics below

    What makes it a crawler?

It's just a short-throw kit I think. Not sure how much that would improve the R151 driving experience? I kind if like long throws.

This is the view from the other side. Anything look unusual?

Yes, it's a short throw. So I'm trying to figure out what makes it a crawler?

You just need to check the truck out in person.

We're looking at the same pics you are; there's so much one can hide.

Just shut the thread, go check it out, and if it's good enough, do the trade and get some cash on top.

The thing is we're 8 hours away so we're planning to meet in the middle this Saturday and make the trade. Unless something is seriously off, we're doing the deal at that point. Long way to go just to take a look.

If you get it I'll trade ya the standard shift turret plus $100 to cover shipping and whatnot

yeah long throws, just missing the 3 or 4 steering wheel turns to lock and it would be like driving a school bus.

I thought for sure that truck had been painted but then I saw the rock chips on the front. Still amazing cosmetic condition inside and out. Did you enquire what if any major engine work has been done? Also suspension maintenance?

In the pictures it looks like the driver door is not fully closed so that would explain the gap, on my 98 if windows are closed it takes some force to close the door.

He said he's done the valve cover gaskets and installed a 3" lift with Bilstein 5100. Also said he did the Tundra brake upgrade and is installing 4.88 gears and lockers.

IS the 3.4 known to develop cracks and exhaust leaks at the manifolds like the 2.7?

Does it also need valve adjustments to avoid burning them up? It has 233k

No on the exhaust, it is recommended to adjust the valves but much less urgent but still at so many miles its a good idea by now to at least check em.

Yea I’ll ask him. Hopefully it’s not a sign of frame damage
