    http://in.news.yahoo.com/apple-ceo-just-six-weeks-live-report-20110217-071343-958.html

The article says that experts say that Steve Jobs probably has around 6 weeks to live (based on pictures and past history with cancer). While I respect the man for what he did to the mobile device market - I have to wonder if Apple is going to survive without him?

Everytime he leaves Apple for a "personal reason" their stock falls and they seem to glide farther and farther down the hole to nothingness.

That said - how long do you think that Apple will survive without Mr. Jobs? I'm thinking 5 years before another company buys them.

Probably. The main reason he's made it this long is being rich as hell. Pancreatic Cancer is about the most terminal one in existence. The survival rate is about 5%.

I'm still curious how much it will really rebound. Is Steve Jobs the real visionary at Apple or has he been taking credit for the work of others all these years?

Only time will tell. I think Apple stock will rebound if it were to tank though.

Poor guy...as much as I dislike apple's stigma, I respect the guy and hope the best for him. Let's hope these rumors are just speculation.

Agreed. And IMHO, Apple is a company wich is keeping the others on their toes.

Simply put, they're very snooty. But it's more the culture many of their users procure...their incessant need to tell everyone how awesome apple products are and show them off. Now that iphones/ipads are the norm, and competing products are the underdogs, it's not as bad. Back when it was about computers...cripes apple fanboys were annoying.

I guess it was National Enquirer that posted this article. I'm doubting it's truth...

I don't think that about all apple users...a few people in my family have macs and never talk about them...it's just the loud few that everyone hears about.

Anyone ever take the time to ponder that we're still in the first generation of home computer moguls?

We don't know how the industry will turn when the bill gates', steve jobs, steve wozniac, linus torvalds, type people go away. WIll technology freeze? Will it explode with new ideas. I'm throwing my money down on the ol "step kids destroy the business" model.

Yea, they only sold 7.3 million iPads in the last quarter and they carry between 8 and 16% of the market (#3 by brand not design depending on source) They're on their way out.

Yeah, it's an international article quoting the National Enquirer.
