    What makes those calipers better?

Are the ceramic pads not doing me any favors? I’d be fine with swapping pads every 500 miles, which would be 48 years offroad, if they’d just bite harder.

I already have the Tundra master with a big brake kit, just need to swap the booster. Planning on doing it when we do my inner fenders

I don't think there is any interaction between the booster and ABS unless you have the TRD OR with the electronic booster ?

Yeah that’s what I have. The more I use atrac the more underrated I think it is. It’s usually my round one especially if I’m bumping something. It’s probably 33% as capable as the locker, but almost as safe as an open diff.

Just did this swap a couple weeks ago with 2010 t4r parts cuz I had to do pads and rotors anyway. Definitely an improvement, but not mind blowing. Will do the Tundra booster/MC eventually as well. I hated my brakes before and now they at least feel passable anyway.

I used Napa calipers because of lifetime warranty, and Toyota rotors/pads cuz I've always had the best luck with those and they aren't really any more expensive.

Good to know. I thought it would be night and day just with larger rotors/pads so I’m glad I didn’t just start buying shit without asking. I’ll probably remain focused on steering then worry about stopping haha but first death by 140 bolts

The first one I did, I did it completely by hand, even snugging up the bolts. That took like 30 minutes and numerous hand cramps. I quickly learned to use my 1/4” impact driver to snug everything up and then just hit it with a torque wrench for the final pass. Much faster and easier.

That’s the plan I’m going with tonight. Didn’t see any torque specs for these specifically, but I’m guessing 20 ftlbs is probably the norm for aluminum

That's what I've seen around the interwebs too, 20-25. I torque mine to 23.

Will dish soap and gear oil soaked saw dust work? There’s a lot of that around here at the moment. I’m making sure to get it all over the place.

Do you use anti seize though?

Personally, I used anti seize on mine. KMC's have steel threaded inserts though.

Yeah these just thread into the aluminum so I’m not sure how the yellow zinc bolts interact with it. Got two sets of holes if you make a boo boo which is nice haha

I antisiezed and went to 18ftlb on mine. Mine even came with torque instructions for grease vs dry

I don't regret doing it, that's for sure, but I would expect more out of a legit BBK that costs 2x as much. I have heard that swapping the booster/MC, even with just stock tacoma brakes makes them substantially better.

I am needing to replace all the uniballs/Heims in my Camburg LT Kit after close to 5yrs DD and off-roading…

Has anyone had any experience with TMR Customs “Lifetime” Heims and uniballs ?

Not even sure if they make the correct sizes I need (emailing Camburg to figure that out), or if they’re worth the price.
But the idea sounds interesting and nice.

edit: also advisable to replace the long UCA frame side bolt with a new one while im at it? Seems like a long flex y bolt that would fatigue relatively quick. I don’t have double shear gussets yet :/

I don't know anything about the lifetime heims, but you should look at replacing the uniballs with EMF joints. They should just press right in.
