Here’s my 07 Sport and with these few miles it should last me a few more years.

@qnyla Love your post. Read through the entire 15 pages. However, almost a 7 year old post. Hopefully OP is still around. Would love to know the status. Whether he or his sons still have the truck. With regular maintenance, these posts re-affirm Toyota's QDR. Yes there are a few lemons but overall, all gens make/made awesome trucks.

I don't know how many people have this sort of comfort level of 400K before tapping out. Nice OP went the distance and wasn't afraid to wheel it. IMHO Keeping it mostly stock is a benefit as well.

Not bad for an 07. Should have over 150k on it by now according to the national average low side. My 2015 has 44k on it. These trucks, as long as they're maintained decently, shouldn't have an issue pushing past 400k. I think it's safe to say Toyota engineered them to be as reliable as the 5VZ with even less maintenance.

Basic upkeep for the most part. The biggest "repair" was an engine rebuild about 100k +/- miles ago. It didnt "need" a full tear down and rebuild, but I got the dreaded head gasket leak. The price to just fix that wasn't that much less than the full rebuild so I just went for it.

Other than that, just regular oil changes at 5000-ish miles (full synthetic), a few spark plug changes, air filter changes obviously, 1 MAF sensor cleaning and 1 MAF sensor replacement, 1 Throttle body cleaning, a couple of radiators, hoses, a new water pump With engine rebuild, 2 serp belt replacements, 2 idler pulley, four? batteries, 2 replacement carrier bearings, all driveline U Joints replaced. Thats what I can think of off the top of my head that I did (dealership may have done stuff such as above when I was the new owner and prior to discovering Tacoma World!) (This website rocks! Saved me a butt load of money and gave me the confidence to do stuff myself.)

Mods that I remember are as follows...
Avid Offroad front light bar with Nilight LED bar and pods. Avid Offroad step rails. Traded my "Sport" scoop hood for a non scoop hood that has a "carbon fiber wrap" on it (that's peeling away now). Nilight roof mount LED light. Amazon roof mount LED light brackets. Cali Raised hood mount LED light brackets with NiLight LED Spot Pods. BFG KO2 AT tires on the stock 17 in rims. Soon to be mounted Spiker Engineering Hood struts. Pelfreybilt (I know I know... ACK!!!!) fuse block bracket with Blue Seas fuse block and 100amp circuit breaker along with some amazon relays. Bilstein 5100 series shocks front and back, Daystar leveling kit block, 6 OTTRAW custom switches mounted in a Meso Customs Switch bracket/console/thingy (6 switches in a straight line mounted up where the Compass and Temp used to be), rear view raising bracket thingy that mounts onto the windshield, rear view mirror with auto shade and built in temp (from the mirror guy on this website but I cant remember his name), Carhart seat covers, Coverking dash mat, a buttload of storage from Blue Ridge Overland Gear, Victory 4x4 Offroad high bed rack and Bed Stiffeners, (Pre Thule)Tepui Ayers Tent (10 years old!)(with Rollercam straps added to replace the original cover securement straps), Truxedo LoPro tonneau cover (Yes it fits with only minor bracket mods for the bed rack), large 50cal bullet cartridge box bolted to bed under the cover, Body Armor 4x4 rear bumper with swing out tire carrier.

2020 Covid boredom, and some UV sun damage to the Fabulous Toyota paint made me rattle can the "camo" stripe and cover the other sun damaged areas. I learned to paint ( HAHA!!) from the Chris Fixx YouTube channel. Its starting to crack and dust off again so I'll have to redo it soon.

Oh yeah. All I use is regular unleaded pump gas.

I bought it used from a Chevy dealer in 08 and if I remember right it had about 16000 miles on it, or was it 40? I m not sure, I'd have to check my records.

Replacing everything worn, broken, and rusted.
@bkrdave36 Good to hear there wasn't much after the head gasket. I suffered that pain as well at 125000 miles and hoping that's the high water mark. Congratulations on 400000 miles!

Sweet. I bought mine with about 27k, about to hit 180k. No major issues or big failures for me yet. I'm still on the stock clutch, lol. With truck prices the way they are, i need mine to last as long as yours has.

I put 350,000 on my 2004 before trading it in after ten years, still running 100% perfect. I run a business out of my truck or I'd have kept it a lot longer.

I also don't drive like a crazy person. I generally stick to the speed limit (unless I'm in Texas on their freeways, then I drop my speed and stay to the right). I also don't do any rock crawling. It's only a 2wd Prerunner with an automatic. So that helps too.

That’s a lot of miles each year. Do you drive a lot for work or take long road trips?

I have an 84 mile round trip commute, and prior to this year (high gas) I'd go to Texas at least once a year and do many weekend trips.

Mines over 60 miles each day and with kids sports, turns into 90 several days a week. How i went from 27k to 180k pretty quick and why i like to see 300k plus trucks, i need it to last that long, lol.
