Nice truck! But that's an SR5; I know for a fact that neither TRD package was available on the RC...

I've only ever seen one of those, a Barcelona Red one when I went to a family reunion in Northern California back in October 2017; I had never seen one before, and I've never seen one since!

For the 1st gens yes. They made the trd with the 4 cylinder. I really wanted my 2nd gen regular cab to be a trd so I made it a functional clone

How hard is it to put a diff locker in, and can 5-lug brakes/etc be fitted to a 6-lug rear diff?

It seems you don’t know Charlie or his threads.
They can start out on one subject. And by the end of the thread, we will talking about something totally unrelated to the original topic.

You will never get bored chatting about the same old thing in one of his post.
Which is cool. Because most of the time, by post #5 in a “regular” thread. All the “useful” information has been posted. And the thread dies.

No, This is incorrect information. 1st Gen TRD Off Road Package was only available on the V-6 models from 1998-2004. You could get them in access cab and double cabs in either 4X4 or 4x2 Pre-Runner configurations.

I have heard that you could get that option in the Pre 98 Tacoma's. But it was just a stand alone option. However, I cannot find in any of the factory brochures where it lists the rear locking differential as an option. But for 1998 and later years the locker only came with the TRD Off Road Package.

If anyone can verify about the rear locking diff as an option please post up some info. Thanks.
