Oh you’re talking clearancing? I pulled the bumps off and jacked up until the upper uniball maxed out and then clearanced from there. Closest I’m at is maybe 1/4” at any given point and bumps will keep me even further than that. So far so good with not hitting anything but time will tell.

Not running this sua setup, but yeah it’s hard to explain and convince people to make the leap for some reason. It literally works better in every situation than soa other than ground clearance under the axle right next to the tire. That’s what bigger tires are for

It would have told by now I’m sure. Any super hard hit full lock is really rare anyways. I can see why I never rubbed on 35’s now though haha I went a little overboard but it’s paying off now.

When I tubbed and cut fenders for 37's with the long travel, I removed bumps and shocks and went about .5-.75" past that. I bumped everything properly with hydrobumps, and on really hard hits, my tires still ended up completely folding my fenders. It looks like They went about 1" past where I had clearanced an extra .5-.75. The front frame and shock towers are VERY flexy, don't underestimate the flexiness. This isn't a one time thing either, it happened relatively frequently when pushing hard. I eyeballed about 3" more out of my fenders and cut it out with a grinder. I've been needing to put a cross bar between the two coil buckets, but haven't ever gotten around to it, my truck needs to be parked in the shop for a couple months for me to do it all properly.

For spirited drivers like you I can definitely see the need for this. I wanna say Kasnerd did this too? I can only speak for myself but I know I won’t be making any hits like that with my off-road driving.

Are you talking about your inner fenders folding from a hard hit?

Yeah fair, I've never touched my fenders when wheeling, just hitting fast stuff.

I just scrub my tub job on the drivers side on hard hits, and where my inner fender attaches to the front core support is completely destroyed, but I meant my actual fenders.

Oh ok I thought you meant the inner fenders. Yeah I don’t do any go fast stuff so it’s a little less demanding. I’ve seen your videos and you whoop on shit pretty good at speed so I can see frame flex playing a bigger part haha

I feel like my ideal vehicle would be a road legal 4400 ultra4 truck with some camping gear, a fridge, speakers and windows.

Slap a taco cab over a 4400 car, add a/c and heat and a stereo.

I don’t know what road legal means. Literally anything goes out here

For those of you that go fast, how much would you say your body flex’s on a hard bump? At hard bump I have about 1” before my tires hit the metal inner fender.

It’s so much better than my SOA, which btw I almost spent just as much money on. One big thing I noticed is the ass is so much more planted regardless of what you are doing. I’m pretty impressed with how I can throw this thing around. As far as the ground clearance, it’s just an excuse for some to not do it.

Also, it articulates like mad while keeping center of gravity low. Seems like a pretty big win for even crawler guys.

By the time you add hammer hangers and new deaver, u bolt flip kit your almost there.

I try and explain to people it’s better everywhere, the truck is enjoyable to drive now. Just gliding up my rutted out driveway without getting slung around makes it worth it lol

Yup, I had hammer hangers, shock relocate, 2.5x14’s, flip kit, super bumps and Deaver U402’s. It wasn’t far off from what I spent on the spring under. I would never waste my time with SOA again.

I love hearing stories about people that finally figured it out. Spring under is a million times better and until you experience it you just won’t understand. The same thing goes for the TC pump.

Unfortunately the Tacoma crowd has been trained to believe that the hanger things and new spring over packs are the only way to go which is so far from the truth! Nothing will compare to the SUA performance, even for rock crawling. You said it best, guys who are “worried” about the springs hanging too low are just making an excuse for themselves

So far, SUA, TC pump, Pivots and slide rack were the best modifications I have done to date. My old SOA setup was going to be put on the fiancés Tacoma, but I will be buying another SUA setup from you when she's ready for it.

I hacked them off. Never even tried. I learned long ago that mix matching parts isn't worth the trouble. But I'm betting the archive relocation towers sit far too low and center for the SUA
