Of note: Fully half of this was energy prices alone. All items less food and energy held essentially flat compared to trend for YTD. This is almost entirely the cost of energy and the cost of energy as an input to everything else.

As non politically as I can make it: Elected officials in D.C. are going to have to pick: Do they want to look green and wreck the economy, or do they want to help the population live better lives and create incentives to increase refining capacity.

It's one or the other for the foreseeable future.
