May be able to find some on Amazon, I’ve gotten tractor parts there a tad cheaper if they have them.

My mower air filter was $60 from Napa

Tractor parts are expensive no matter where you shop.
Messick's has given me good service, ships quick and stocks OEM parts.

I saw "inner air filter" referenced when I searched this. Does it have an inner and an outer filter?

    ETA: appears that it does.

Anyone have any opinions on a rental price for my tractor? I have an L2501 and somebody is looking for me to do some minor grading/scraping for them. I figure 600 for a day seems fair, maybe more for 2 days

Are you trailering the unit to the job? Most pro's will get $250 just to transport the equipment.

If driving 1/2 mile down the road, the 6 bills would be decent .

Anything that involves digging or excavating I would be careful with. If your insured or if it’s for family is one thing, anyone else is risky. If you do it just make sure you know where any hazards are.

Never worked on it before, my dad always took care of maintenance when I was at school or work, or after I moved out. I’m about to find out though!

Its just scraping off a few inches of dirt to put stone down. If anything is that close to the surface I would question a lot more than just that

I'd say $65 an hour minimum, I learned my lesson charging by the job. It usually takes longer than you expect.

Agree with the hidden danger part too, around these parts phones lines are usually buried right beside the driveway and sometimes cross them. Neighbor cut my parents and it cost them close to $400 to have it repaired.

I don't know about the NAPA filters specifically, but that second one is the same style we used in smaller diesel powered equipment when I was in the Air Force. They hold a TON of dust. Between services, they are easy to take out, knock out the dust and reuse. That equipment ran 12hrs a day for 6 months in the desert between services. I think you would get a lot of service out of that, especially if you're not operating in terrible conditions.

I was happy to see that the Bolens G214 I am currently borrowing has the same filter.

By 10:27am the heat index here at the farm was at 100* and as of 30minutes ago, I'm done for the day, heat index currently 106 and climbing to about 112* today, just added some armor to my hydraulic manifold on the Orange.

    Before.

    After

Pretty sure this was designed to also place Praise Jesus Coldbeers, while the machine is going through the service intervals.

Also the drought data for the closet town 22min South of me was just updated a couple days ago.

Currently it's been the driest start of this year on record, ranked #1 out of 128 years!
We're about 12inches behind for rainfall just for this year, YTD only received 2.73 inches so far. Please pray for some rain for us!

It's a lot easier to remove the decks when you can use the lift. Unfortunately a project is a head. Improvise, overcome and adapt.

Started assessing the bent deck. Gonna take some fab work. Fortunately this deck has some good iron.
These Z-255 units did not really have the best decks. Still miles better than the units you get at the big box stores.

It was a happy surprise to find the spindles are spinning smoothly. Won't have to play that "find the bearing" game.

I went to Wal-Mart the other day and the ZT mowers they have there, the decks look like they may last 3 years

I think I'll have less work if cut out the trauma section. It's kind of " springy". I don't think I can send it back in shape and have it stay.

I know if I get section on the fab table, I can make it do anything I want.PXL_20220713_183527119.jpg
