I live up in the mountains with the NF about 2 min from the house. I am out quite often. I carry a fire extinguisher aswell. But its on the bed rack so its out in public and seen. So if someone needs it, it can be accessed by anyone and not have to go searching thru the truck.

As I've mentioned a couple times, I used to live in Cottonwood AZ, which is about 10min from Jerome AZ, which is where Maynard James Keenan lives. We'd see him around town from time to time (Cottonwood's population at the time was under 12,000, Jerome is under 300), especially if down in Old Town Cottonwood, he has a couple wine operations down there (AZ Stronghold, Merkin).

Anyway, point is, having met the guy a few times, this is right in line with him and the people from that part of the country. There's a kooky alternative spirituality mixed with a fierce independent streak up there. Hence it being a strong draw for artists. He falls right in line with that ouvre that I would describe as "Eclectic mixed with fuck around and find out". I miss it. There's a well-selling bumper sticker in Jerome that simply reads "We are all here because we are not all there", which is just sublime once you get to know the town and area.

 

We always did the same, both on my truck and our side by side. Considering the wildfire risk out there, I want anyone who remotely needs it to be able to grab that thing from my truck unobstructed.

 

And be able to see it quick in a panic.
