Question about scout carry for my new *Becker BK18. I messed around with 550 cord trying to rig up a proper belt loop but the lashing holes in the sheath don’t seem to be where I need them. So, and get ready for a laugh, I got the black zip ties out I use at work. Staggered orientation, cut almost flush, and melted the tips smooth. Does it work? Yep, quite well. Do I like it? Nope.

Any alternatives that won’t look like ass?

I thought about trying my hand at stippling with a soldering iron on the factory grips. I also got the micarta scales and the grip feel is much improved.

After carrying my little Kershaw's for 40 years I thought I'd step into the automatic world.

I know, one of those Kershaw's are just part of the daily package. It is a change up to get use to the Protech. One of the reasons I chose it over say the Kershaw Launch autos is its close resemblance in blade, size and weight to the old boys. Even an old guys can change.

Look up Tek-Lok systems on a knife site like Knifecenter or BladeHQ. They are made by several companies and sometimes called different name like T-clip or C-clip. They bolt onto sheaths and you can orient them for either horizonal or vertical carry. Sometimes you can only get 2 of the 4 screws to line up but they work just fine that way.

My first folding knife I made. Super excited about this. Learned a lot. Still have to finish up a few things on it and heat treat the blade.
I made jigs along the way so I can more easily produce these.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Very cool phill. Does it lock in some way? Also if you flip the bottle opener around, it won’t try an open when you pry on the cap. Not sure if I worded that right.

It’s a friction folder. So no lock. The stop pin in the closed position acts against the force of the bottle opener. So it won’t try to open the blade when cranking open a cold one
