How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

Hey all,
First time tacoma buyer here. I put in a request for a Lunar Rock OR MT back in like I want to say October out here in the greater LA area. Just got a call today that they've got a manual coming in MGM instead of Lunar Rock that they have for me. I had wanted the premium package as well, but this MGM doesn't have that, just the upgraded headlights. I'm not opposed to MGM, but really was eyeing the Lunar Rock. What are my chances of ever seeing a Lunar Rock OR with a manual? Manual is more important to me than color, but of course we all want our dream truck. Just trying to determine if I should temper my expectations or not.

Some dealers in the Midwest, Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota have Lunar Rock MT Off Roads incoming with out being spoken for. Search them out using cars.com, carsoup, cargurus or truecar

When I was searching for mine months ago, I noticed most of the MT Lunar Rock OR are in the East Coast, some without a preorder on it.

 

I'm not averse to putting in the work to find it per se, but is there like an easy way to do this? I don't know of a way to hunt down out of state inventory other than punching in zips.

 

You don't have to punch in Zip codes, use the nationwide or all miles from, check the off road and MT boxes...

YAY! Dealer website is showing my Taco just went from allocated to in transit!!! And it's stripped of all the BS I didn't want!! It does have tube steps though, those will be coming off and left at the dealer. Now I can work out the options and tire upgrade I do want the dealer to install.

Ah thank you, i wasn't aware of using cars.com for inventory so that was all on me. Appreciate it! After reading some people's comments here on other threads about the headaches of buying an out of state vehicle from CA, I'm thinking this might not be worth it in the end.

Mine was listed as in Transit 2 months ago when I put downpayment on it was suppose to arrive June 28th Now July 28th/ Hope you have better luck

 

Yeah I'm not like willing to pay a ton for the LR privilege, seems like I should be happy with MGM (not a bad color!) and stick with what I've got.

CA is not an easy state to get a manual Tacoma. Not impossible, but you'll have to play the waiting game. I tried buying out of state and it's either I have to pay markup or they won't sell to non-local buyers. Don't be afraid to put your name down on many dealerships.

The wait for a manual Tacoma is worth it to me. I put about 65 miles on my truck each day and I'm loving it.

 

100%. I've been waiting on one since I think October of last year. I of course wanted it all though; manual in the color i wanted, TRD OR, premium with no markup LOL. Put a deposit in with Longo here and they'll honor MSRP, got a call yesterday that they've got a manual OR in MGM that they assigned to me. I'm leaning towards taking this one as the price is right and the color reminds me of my old WRX I had

 

@Nepenthe My Tacoma was made in Guanajuato, going to a dealer in Eastern PA. My situation may be different from normal as my truck didn't go on a vessel to the Eastern US (Newark, etc) but rather a train. My vehicle was made Jun 1, was moved after a week to Santa Rita MX waiting for a ride to the port of Veracruz. It sat in Santa Rita for another week then went to the port of Veracruz. It sat at the port for another two weeks, then was loaded on a train at Veracruz, MX for Newark, NJ. It only took around 9 days from the day it was loaded on a train to arrival at my dealer. I had assumed that the port installed options would be installed in Newark, but giving the timing, I wonder if they were installed in Veracruz, while it sat there for two weeks. Hope this helps.

 

If my truck was built on 7/11 - 3TYCZ5AN1NT093386 - when should I expect delivery to the dealer and when might the Toyota app start working? The app is giving me a WiFi error...

 

As you can see earlier in the thread from us 6/4 build crowd who still have yet to leave the factory, no idea.
