That's why I bought the sport red metallic '07 Malibu from the Anchorage dealer's rental fleet, since the next year brought more slope to the rear roof line. The three foot spacing between Thule flat bars is OK for hauling lumber, but a bit long for putting the ends of a canoe out there another 6' (or more). I was pleased that Dad bought the '09 Tacoma and added an EZ-Loader trailer for the 1962 Grumman (now Marathon Boat) Sportboat (Like an aluminum Maine guide boat). 112 catalog lbs. gets heavier as we get older...

My sister in MT bought a CX5, a great ride and a great deal from a Volvo dealer. It was a trade-in, and when she asked about the price was told to look around. They really didn't want it seen around their brand. Johnny Guitar in Valdez had a couple MPVs, sold the most beat-up one locally and upgraded to a used Exploder, so I was able to borrow the other MPV when my neighbor and I took his Cub to Valdez for the weekend Bush Pilot Fly-In and competition. He brought that one over on the ferry for the first couple Salmon Jam weekend music festivals with his PA equipment (used with his band Moon Doggies in Valdez), and since I had a minivan in Cordova, I hauled the Domino Kings and their gear from the airport into town and around. Minivans are great in Alaska because the whole cargo space is climate controlled!

Best Pizza: Kito's Cave in Petersburg (jog from the ferry to place an order ahead of the following crowd and listen to the comments when walking into the solarium:hungry: Best Tacos: Baja Taco (the red bus) in Cordova Liz Pudwill developed the salsas while she and Bob wintered in Baja (lo-cal California) applied to the fish of the day (red salmon, halibut or another commercial catch). Best pizza advice in Cordova was DiGiorno's <G>. So many good cooks, but nearly all noncommercial.
Coeur d'Alene has much more: Fire (artisan)Pizza downtown and Mackenzie River Pizza Co. (Missoula, Coeur d'Alene, Bozeman) (the latter is about a five minute walk from, or to, home :))
Umm, just brought in an elk round steak and a (last of the Branch White Park) beef round steak from the grill. Had to start slicing and sampling before its destination, this next batch of baked beans. Start with the old Farm Journal Cookbook recipe, and modify... :ballchain:to the slow cooker... until all the ingredients are in.

And here I thought I lived in bumfuck middle of nowhere. We have two within 25 minutes of my house. One is right by my work and in the shopping district, so not too bad. The other is on the main drag near all the car dealerships, so not too bad. Ironically both are 1 mile from a Lowe's...

Helped my buddy this evening with preparing to pull the engine out of his CJ2A. Very conveniently it has a tow bar on it so it's easy to move around at the moment. 28C9B40E-51E5-4856-9BFA-DB963484E678.jpg B079ED9F-ECC7-4E79-9C81-2770369C88D0.jpg

Oh I didn't. The dealership gives it a courtesy wash every time it's in for service (or power steering pumps)

    Meh, still washed.

I explicitly tell them not to wash mine. Fuckers still got grease on my door and messed up a wheel center cap. Glad that was my last free service!

That's the beauty of accepting mine as a work truck. They can leave it dirty and I won't know the difference....
