Simple one today. A friend of mine gifted me his meso customs key fob! He ended up purchasing a white one (to match his Taco) and gave me this one to match mine lol.

I noticed this also when I saw the original post. My children even point out flags being displayed improperly now to me. I’ve hard to continue telling myself…it’s not my flag it’s all of our flag.

I’ve seen a lot of people display the flag and not realize they were doing anything against the flag code or showing disrespect to the flag. It’s all about education and being tactful which I don’t see anything wrong with how you approached this situation.

I’ve never supported flag burning or flying the flag upside down but in those obvious signs of disrespect I try to consider it a reflection of their character.

I also don’t believe the OP was attempting to be patriotic in display. I don’t believe it was an attempt to intentionally display the flag in violation of the flag code.

My two cents…at least we are all patriotic in the situation!

The flag should be displayed with the stars in the upper left-hand corner, with an important exception. A flag displayed on the passenger side of a vehicle should show the stars at the upper right-hand corner. Isn't that backward? It is, but the reason is that the field of stars (sometimes called the "union") should always be in the highest position of honor. On a vehicle that moves, that would be closest to the front, as shown in the photo above.

I think there is no question about this, just that the location you are talking about is not on the passenger side, it is on the back. It doesn’t matter if it is on the passenger side OF the back.

But the passenger side and the rear are not the same thing. Would you put a flag with the star field (Union) in the upper right on the back of a shirt? No. The rear of the vehicle is the rear of the vehicle, not the side.

That is correct. To answer your question I would also not wear a shirt with the flag in it because it is not suppose to be worn as apparel. Also, shirts can get dirty if you have to lay down on the ground for any reason or work on a vehicle.
Military/law enforcement uniforms are an exception to this rule because the flags are worn for identification purposes

True. I was just using it as an example. But, that brings up a good point. Our trucks get dirty, so…
Anyway, I just realized, this thread is not about this topic. But it is a good topic!

I've had the Stant Locking Gas Cap since the beginning of the year (2022) with no error codes.

I intend on keeping it on throughout the year which includes our freezing winters. The locking tailgate thing...wasn't aware it froze but I will also update that in Dec2022-Feb2023.

That was my impression, I thought those fall under “replica” flags? Therefore, wouldn’t that put them in the same category as a flag vinyl you sometimes see on the hood or tailgate?

The truck getting dirty is also why I do not personally have a flag on my truck. Been in the military for 20+ years so I do my best to not disrespect the flag.

It’s a touchy subject for sure with a lot of passion involved. It always bugged me that people had US flag masks…just chock it up to an individual attempting to be patriotic and not the contrary
