How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

take your deposit and go to another msrp dealer. I put a deposit on a celestial offroad on May 30, backed out of it mid june due to the Bronco I have on order (got delayed again after I back out). Got called this past Saturday that it had arrived and I could still buy it. I said no, got sold 2 hours later.

Not directed at Rod: I guess I am growing impatient. Build date was 4 weeks ago, truck has been sitting in Long Beach. All the Toyota ETAs have come and gone with no updates. It's frustrating that no one is able to provide any reason for the lack of progress. The truck is built. It exists. Why can't a human punch in the VIN, and say why it's delayed? Railroad backed up? Anything... I am starting to consider going a different direction. Not sure if any other option or vehicle will be better though. I am more than willing to spend $45k MSRP but Toyota wants to make it hard. (none of this is directed at Rod, who has been the most helpful person in this process with nothing to gain but beers from my donation)

 

I'm right there with you man.
My truck was supposedly built on 6/4 but nothing in the Toyota system has updated it since then.
Under "normal" situations it would be on a train within the week and 3-4 weeks later should be at the dealership. Instead here it is over a month later and... nothing...
That's on top of all of the time spent sitting around BEFORE the build date.

I have no issue with there being parts shortages or whatnot but the lack of clarity into the system is maddening.
I can understand something like "oh it's lacking this part before it can be sent" but the silence is painful.

 

I emailed Toyota. I told them I don't wish to criticize my dealer, since they have been good to work with and don't seem to have the ability to answer my question. I asked Toyota if they could take a moment to look into the hold up and provide an update. I'm sure I won't get anywhere, but I tried.

I used to live in Montana about 10 years or so ago and I purchased two vehicles out of state. You don't pay sales tax when you purchase an out of state vehicle that is being brought back to register in Montana. If you however decide to move out of state within 6 months of purchasing the out of state vehicle you will be charged "used tax" when you re-register in another state.

This was how it was for me anyway, if nothing has really changed in the last 10 or so years than it should be basically the same thing.

 

You definitely do not pay sales tax when you purchase out of state. xp0nex is 100% correct.

 

My Tacoma allocation is finally appearing on the dealer's website. Even has the Monroney label. That's a good sign right?

I do have a question about entering the vehicle in the Toyota app. I saw that others in the forum were getting lock/unlock readings and even mileage. I thought I would add mine to see what came up and I activated Connected Services. I don't see any status updates through the app but did I start the clock early on my connected services? The screen currently says "Activate Remote" and for Vehicle Status it says "No data found." Should I reach out to Toyota and ask them to reset it or does it sort itself out once the vehicle is purchased (wishful thinking)?

Mine says active remote also I got two lock/unlock notices a week ago and 4 miles showing on truck and tire pressure readings. It my take a few days. I got notifications 4-5 days after registering my permanent Vin. Hope this helps

 

@hypecat It's Princeton, IN. For reference, mine left San Diego on or about May 17th and arrived in Princeton on June 9th. It sat there for 2.5 weeks (one week was while on QC hold) before leaving on a semi 7/27 for the dealership.
