I bought the Bilstein 5100 version of the TRD lift and had an independent do mine for $400 which also included an alignment after. I did the grill swap with TSS&360 camera mount myself.
Gave him a nice tip as I was expecting it to be more , but because my truck was brand new, no rusty hardware to battle and had it done in 3 hrs. They also mounted my 4 new winter wheels . Im in Ct.

Yep way over priced and about the same I was quoted, Capital Toyota in Chatt was over priced as well. For the OEM lift and install cost I will go with the Bilstein 6112/5160 kit and work on the install myself. And I will ask around if someone would like to help. Beer and pizza is a great persuader

Just found my dealer. Toyota of Gallatin going to do it for a price that is in line with everyone else's feedback here in this thread. Guess they'll be getting my business for everything moving forward.

In So. Cal. those would be great prices. Had one dealer quote $3K+ for lift kit plus close to $500 to install the TRD Pro grill

I was just quoted $3700 parts + labor by my local dealer. For comparison, I also got a quote from an off road shop for actual Bilstein 5100's plus Wheeler AAL and SPC UCA's for $3100 parts + labor.

$10,000 if it's listed on the window sticker.

Pretty sure I've seen people say that before.

    Oh look, another mod....
The price you pay is one thing, but do not...under any circumstances roll this cost into the loan of your vehicle. You'll pay interest on it which will bring the total to a very high amount. It's like paying taxes on taxes.

If you can, pay for that out of pocket.

Example: $1700 for the lift x's Your Current Interest Rate x's The number of years you finance the truck for ='s (this is a guesstimate) $2500...or more!

I didn't. Sold my old Dodge 2500 and using the funds to decide what lift to go with and I will do the install. Already watched plenty of Youtube video's

For all you folks with local dealers quoting crazy prices: shop around. Took me calling 4 dealers in my area before I found one that had a good price. Per Toyota, it’s in their system as something like a ~5hr job. Find out dealers hourly rate, then price accordingly…

    Ho-lee-shit.

2400? Because you wanted to keep the "warranty?"

I have a custom lift, toytec, spc, custom alcans, i spent less, and still have warranty coverage from Toyota. Just had warranty work done.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
Which is exactly what they want you to do. After they pillage you for parts and labor.

The OE lift is the new gold plated badging from the 80's, scotch guarded seats and paint sealant package.

The idea is to keep the warranty with labor on everything. If your Toytec spring breaks tomorrow, Toyota will not install a new Toytec spring under warranty. They will with the TRD lift.

That being said, I don't agree with the dealer installing any lift.

I don't know anything about working on cars/trucks. And I don't know anyone or anywhere locally that does that kind of work. So I paid the dealership for it. Price I pay for not learning how to do this kind of shit on my own.

Well, in Oregon i imagine there are quite a few good places to have work done. Back in 2006 when i got my Xterra, the forum would have local mod days, we would all work on each others trucks. I get why you paid this time. But get more involved locally, it really helped me learn a ton about my truck.
