I am planning on flooring under completed drywall only.

I think I will hold off on the floor. I'll have to move stuff twice, but it will probably save me a lot of cleanup work.

Either that, or spend a small fortune on Ram Board to protect the flooring.

i scraped popcorn ceiling onto a gray grouted floor, and forever have been blessed with white spotted grout. Its really lovely...
Name your grout cleaner, steam, etc, still there. Gonna try the grout coloring stain.

Try having your toaster oven and microwave on the same circuit. Previous house. Yeah I ran a new one.

Wow, just look what I started here...

Previous house had an older fridge that was on the same circuit as the counter top, microwave, and even an outlet a window AC unit was plugged into. Yea, we tripped that one a lot, especially in the summer

Current one isn't too bad, I need to change some stuff around. The master is connected with the bathroom on a 15amp circuit. Some dingle-douche also tied in some outlets they did on the back wall of the previous carport to the master/bathroom circuit... Luckily I know where that wire is an can tie it in to the appropriate garage circuits...

Hey, it was built in 1965, they didn't run as much stuff back then. I'm just lucky all the wire has a ground!

Gonna just add a couple outlets in my room (the master) on their own 20a circuit to run my computer and a backup window AC unit if need to be. The central is looking pretty cruddy at this point and I need to plan for eventual backup.

The real fun one is there's no ceiling lights in the living room and other two bedrooms. You gotta use one of the switched outlets. That's a fun one to correct...

Oh man that’s even worse, wet goopy drywall compound and the little popcorn bits. :anonymous:

Grout Refresh is some solid stuff. You can make your grout literally any color, and the stuff is nearly bulletproof

Unfortunately, it's going to be tedious, no avoiding that. You do have to go line-by-line and paint each one.
If you have large tiles, it's really not bad, but mosaics can get annoying fast. lol

Get an old toothbrush, or what I use are denture brushes since they have the bent handle (keeps your knuckles and fingers out of it).
Put a real thin bead down on the joint, and then just scrub it in a bit with the brush. Thin to win with this stuff, it would be better to do a couple thin applications than one thick goopy one (it wont dry right). After that, let it sit a little bit until it starts to dry to the touch, and then scrub off what got on the face of the tile with water and a white scrub pad, a sponge, or once its totally dry some folks come back with a razor scraper and pull it off that way.

thats what i thought, tedious, but was wondering if you had to paint the colorant with precision or could be messy and wipe up. Thanks!

My condo had the half hot half switched outlets in the living room & both bedrooms, no ceiling lights. It actually made it easier to install the recessed lights because I used the switched wire to control the new recessed lights. That switched wire was already run overhead so I just snipped it & ran it to the new ballast. The outlets got replaced anyway so both plugs were always hot.

My living room is like that and I plan on taking the switch out of the equation and just wire nutting the wires all together for the plugs. Just haven't done it yet.

Just replace the plugs? To make it half hot they just snipped the tab which opened the circuit. New plug wired in there will have both plugs hot. Then just cap the wire from the switch & leave it in the wall if you don't use it for something immediately.

Maybe mine is different then? They are single outlets and either the top or bottom port is hot all the time and the other one is hot only when the switch is flipped.

I'm pretty sure we're saying the same thing. To make the outlet switched they snip the bus bar, which disconnects the 2 plugs from each other to make them independent. Then they run an always hot line wire to 1 plug & a switched load wire from a wall switch to the other plug. If you replace the plug with a new one & leave that bus bar intact, then you just need to hook up the line wire to the new outlet & it'll power both plugs. The wire from the wall switch to the plug is no longer needed & can be capped. Or in my case used for overhead recessed lights controlled by that same wall switch.

This image shows the bus bar intact versus snipped.
