My wife, probably kid too, plan on attending this. Trail ride, trail clean up, and all the new Toyotas will be there. Sponsored by Toyota. Anyone else going?

If you want to put on a raffle for a free tune we could definitely work something out! The group isn't specific to Tacoma's however.

Any electric hot water heater experts here? Had the whole house replumbed last Saturday, including the lines running to the hot water heater. For that to happen, the tank had to be drained and moved. I noticed Sunday morning and Thursday morning the breaker was tripped when I woke up to a lukewarm shower. It's just weird that it happened several days apart. It seems like the element was an issue, it would trip immediately.

    My initial thoughts are twofold.
    1. Moving around a 9 year old heater caused some heating element issues.
    2. The tank wasn't fully full before power was reapplied.

I can replace both elements and thermostats with a $35 kit from Lowe's. Easy to do. However, both elements test good. They are supposed to read between 10-16ohms depending on their wattage. Mine are 4500 watts and read 12.4ohms. Maybe just outside of what they should be? I can't imagine basic hot water heaters are that smart. Maybe the breaker needs replacing?
If I have to replace the whole unit, I'm going with a gas tankless. But since I just spent $2400 having the house replumbed I'd like to get more life out of this heater.

I'd be looking at wiring connections from where they disconnected it to move it. Could be a chance of the elements just from moving it around .

I looked at the connections and that looks good. Talked to a friend at lunch about it. He thought probably the breaker. Since the breaker hadn't been touched in years and now it moved. His idea was to turn it off and on a bunch to clean the contacts.

If you can get your hands on an ammeter, check when the hot water heater is under full load and see if it's pulling more amps than the breaker is rated. If not, then it's probably the breaker.

    Best.

Test it at the thermostat where the wires come into the top thermostat?

I just had this happen in my house. I turned off my well pump to replace the whole house water filters, and when i went to turn the breaker back on it was just limp...took it out and it had blown out the side of the breaker. No telling how old it was or last time it was flipped, but I guess they do eventually go bad. They are like $5 so I'd start there.

I hope not. It's harder to find Stab Lok breakers.

Had a brand new Federal panel in the garage/shop just when all this BS started. Found out what happened @ Federal then proceeded to shuck said unit for X3 $ & get the Bigger panel I figured I’d never need but really did.

Some good spots on the beach to hang a hammock just make sure you bring some bug spray! The inner salt water ponds have some monster reds and flounder but they are also loaded with gators. It’s a cool spot just go prepared.

Drop these coordinates into google. It’s the perfect little creek to anchor, just keep an eye on the tides. (32.8528124, -79.7017849)
